Abilities

Fires lasers from back legs, dealing damage to a single Nikke. The back legs can be destroyed.

A simple ability from the tentacles in the back, dealing damage. The tentacles are easy to destroy or, depending on the team used, can be completely ignored. If Electric code Nikke are used this laser will be able to oneshot them.

Fires many Squid Missiles at a single Nikke, dealing damage. Missiles can be intercepted.

This ability has been replaced by missiles that can’t be destroyed anymore without updating the ability tooltip. The damage is minor so usually no defensive actions need to be taken.

Kraken vigorously waves its front legs, dealing damage to all Nikkes. The front legs can be destroyed.

One of the most dangerous abilites that Kraken possesses. Deals a big amount of damage to the whole team unless interrupted. This ability can be negated by destroying the big tentacle in the front.

Note: the front tentacles have a core

Fires a laser at a single Nikke, dealing damage.

Can basically be ignored. Similar to the squid missiles, little damage is dealt to a single Nikke and can easily be diminished by a healer or shielder.

Kraken inhales the surrounding seawater and shoots it out, dealing damage to all Nikkes.

Another ability with minor damage, nothing important need to be known.

Kraken stirs up a whirlwind, dealing damage to all Nikkes. Generates a defensive barrier when using Vertical Screw. While the barrier is up, only Wind Code Nikkes can deal damage.

Elemental quick time event, also referred to as QTE. Kraken shields itself while 3 rings appear that need to be destroyed by a Wind code Nikke. One above its head, one on each side close to the water. Failing the shield QTE will almost always lead to a teamwipe.

Kraken stirs up massive waves. Can only be stopped through Special Interruption. Should an attempt at Special Interruption fail, the laser deals damage to a single Nikke.

Screenwide QTE, also referred to as intermission. Kraken will dive into the water and 7 rings need to be cleared in order. This order is random, so is the size of the rings. Failing to clear one of the rings in time will lead to one Nikke being oneshot.

General Tips

Always make sure the legs (tentacles) are destroyed before Kraken can use its ability. Legs in the back can be passively destroyed with certain characters or pierce attacks but can generally be ignored unless an electric code Nikke is being used because it can be oneshot in later stages.

During Phase 1, while the shell is still up, Pierce Nikke like Alice or Red Hood can hit the core by aiming at a special position. This spot can also be locked onto for more comfortable shooting.

At a certain point Kraken will drop its shell, unveiling the core. Shortly after that the screenwide QTE will start but the core will remain open for the rest of the battle and able to be locked onto.

Minmaxing the burst generation is possible by fully charging a SR Nikke like Alice and waiting until a front leg overlaps with a back leg. Firing the shot with both overlapping will generate additional burst gauge with a single shot. This is also done in the video for better visuals.

    • yes i believe he just means use aim assist and the aim will lock onto the cores/enemies you aim at and fire dead center, you have to move further away to “disengage”
