F2P Team (For very early Chapters)
This team should be able to carry you until chapter 5 or 6, where you will unlock important features in the game such as Synchro Device and Recycling Room. The early chapters are for you to learn how the game works, such as needing at least 1 B1, 1 B2 and 1 B3 in a team to activate full burst, and what raptures/enemies are most dangerous and should be cleared first in a certain stage.
You should look to slowly transition into the other teams listed below for replacements. Immediately replace any of the units with better SSR ones in the same role if you manage to pull any. For example, Liter replaces N102 for B1, Centi or Rupee replaces Anis for B2 and so on.
IMPORTANT: Privaty will be given for free after 14 days from the day to day event, replace Mihara with Privaty when you get her.
You should also refer to the tier list for more info on which units would be good replacements. Units that are off meta or not mentioned here should be considered if you have them. For example, Epinel has a rating of 8.5 for waves and 9 for wave boss, which means she will do very well as a B3 replacement over Rapi or Mihara.
General Meta Team
The 5 main units and replacement units for this team perform decently typically with just a modest investment of getting their skill levels to 4/4/4. Some units do what they need to do with little to no skill investment required such as Anis for burst generation, so do your own research before levelling a unit’s skill. VERY IMPORTANT: Refer to the skill priority guide for more info on which skills to upgrade, especially when you want to upgrade them beyond lvl4 because skill upgrade resources are scarce.
VERY IMPORTANT: The 5 main units here can be easily slotted into any other team compositions and do well in their roles. Therefore, these 5 units will not be mentioned as replacements for other team compositions in the sections below.
Liter is the BIS B1 for almost every team, and is often the 2nd best option when she isn’t BIS. Liter provides great ATK buff, CDR and a small ammo increase+crit damage. She also provides the ability to repair cover, which helps with survivability if cover is used optimally.
Centi is the BIS B2 for almost every Campaign stages except for single boss fights, where more DPS might be preferred. Even then, the burst gen from Centi might allow you to activate more burst rotations, thus dealing more damage in certain scenarios. Centi is mainly used because of her high burst gen, which is achieved by quick spamming her attacks at grouped enemies or buildings. Centi also provides survivability with her low CD shield, which works very well due to how shield works in this game. Check out this article to learn more about Centi.
Modernia and Scarlet are the BIS B3 in most teams for most players because:
- They perform really well with a modest investment of 4/4/4
- They are very easy to pilot
- They still deal great damage without using burst
- They have no weakness, performs great against single boss AND mob waves
This means that investing into Modernia and Scarlet are always worth it, since you can use them for almost every stage in every team comp and they will perform well.
Modernia and Scarlet both play the role of DPS machine. Modernia’s skill 1 and 2 buffs her own damage, while her burst deals with mob waves easily. Scarlet’s skill 1 buffs her own damage, and also has a AOE burst that wipes mobs.
The final slot, flex, is usually filled in by Rapunzel. Rapunzel provides healing with her full charge attacks, which means you can get healing while still using Liter’s burst to provide buffs for the entire team. Rapunzel’s burst revives 1 fallen unit, which allows you to have a higher margin of error in certain stages, although it does have a 60s CD. Not every stage needs healing though, there are stages where more damage is required, and you should swap in units that provide more offensive capabilities for such stages.
Burst 1 Replacements
Behold our angel Dorothy, finally a worthy B1 as replacement for the Literless players. Dorothy provides useful CDR and deals good damage herself in campaign if you aren’t having a huge CP deficit (more than 15%). She also has insane synergy with Privaty, a unit you will get for free from Day to Day event.
N102 is also known as budget Liter, as she gives a decent attack buff to the entire team, which is why she’s the 2nd best replacement for Liter in most situations. Having more ATK is simply better than other stats such as critical rate and critical damage buffs due to the current damage formula in this game. However, N102 is a SR unit, which means you will lose some CP for using her over a SSR Burst 1. Only upgrade N102’s burst to lvl4, and focus skill upgrade resource on your DPS units that are worth upgrading instead.
Pepper provides decent damage and good healing, though you might need to get buffs especially CDR from other units (Dolla) if you use Pepper, which could limit your Burst 2 options.
Volume provides crit stats which is kinda meh, but her CDR can be valuable for certain stages.
Burst 2 Replacements
Rupee deals good DPS on her own and provides a decent attack buff to the entire team.
Dolla provides decent attack buff and is the only B2 unit that provides CDR to the entire team. Dolla is mostly used only if you are not using Liter in team, there are better B2 options if using Liter.
Viper and Guilty both provide good burst generation and also good DPS, and does especially well in single boss fights. Guilty is a better choice than Viper, however it takes you much longer to acquire Guilty since she’s only obtainable through Liberation.
Anis is only used for manipulating burst generation for certain stages if you don’t have Centi.
Burst 3 Replacements
Alice provides great DPS and works very well in single boss fights although she requires manual play to output higher DPS.
Drake provides good DPS and burst gen, while also a decent ATK+hit rate buff to the entire team.
Harran is very effective in Campaign stages with mob waves, providing good burst gen with her skill 1 and AOE wave clear with her burst.
Laplace provides pretty good DPS and does well against certain bosses, also does ok against mob waves with her burst.
Flex Options
Depending on stages and your current team setup, this slot has many flexible options, therefore it’s called flex. You will want healing or taunt for survivability in certain stages, or a unit that provides good DPS+decent team buff without activating burst, or a unit that provides utility such as stunning mob waves/boss and shielding. There is no one absolute correct solution to every scenario, you have to figure out the best option on your own here. The units recommended below are some of the more commonly used ones, just to give you ideas to start with.
Noise is used in stages where there are attacks she can tank through and have enough time to heal up with her skills.
Poli is used when you need a good ATK buff and shielding. She also provides decent burst gen being a Shotgun unit.
Drake provides decent ATK and hit rate buff to the entire team without activating burst, and is therefore often used as a 3rd B3 DPS.
Helm’s burst provides lifesteal which can be very useful in certain stages especially for Scarlet.
Privaty is often used for her burst that stuns mob waves for 3 seconds, which can be crucial for clearing certain stages with a large CP deficit. She also provides a decent ATK buff and reload speed buff to the entire team. However, the reload buff also cuts everyone’s ammo in half, so her skill 1 needs decent investment to work well.
Notable off meta units
Noah provides conditional survivability in certain stages where damage is unavoidable and you don’t have a healer in your box. For example, stage 15-18. She is normally paired with Poli as they are both 40s CD B2.
Epinel and Maiden both provide good AOE wave clear with their burst, but you have to find ways to stack their Skill 1 in order to have enough damage that wipes out mobs in stages with high CP deficit. For early game stages where you need AOE wave clear though, use these 2 units if you don’t have the top options mentioned before.
Snow White Carry
Burst 1 | Burst 2 | Core | Flex | Flex |
![]() Liter | ![]() Centi | ![]() Snow White | ![]() Privaty | ![]() Anne: Miracle Fairy |
This team’s core unit is Snow White, who can one shot elite mobs and wave bosses in Campaign stages that wall players using the standard meta team with large CP deficits. Snow White also does well in certain single boss fights if they have breakable parts. However, you have to invest a very huge amount of resources into Snow White to make her work well, though the payoff is worth it.
Snow White’s biggest weakness is lack of wave clear, she struggles against mob waves which is why it’s necessary to include an AOE burst unit in the team. Any ATK buff are also great for this team, to ensure that Snow White’s burst is able to at least bring the target raptures down to near 0 HP or just one-shot them.
Snow White also requires the player to learn how to play around her, such as positioning and charging her burst. More advanced strategies such as stalling for boss wave to wait for burst CD, purposely leaving 1 mob alive to build up burst gauge might also be needed for certain stages. Read this page to learn more about different mechanics used for Snow White.
Refer to Liter’s and Centi’s role in the general meta team section.
Snow White’s role here is to one-shot elite mobs and wave bosses in Campaign and Tribe tower stages, allowing the player to bypass some obnoxious stages such as triple Bronchus (fart boss), which would otherwise require higher CP using other teams.
Privaty’s main role here is to provide an AOE stun that buys time for Snow White and also clear weaker mobs. Privaty also provides a decent ATK buff which helps out Snow White’s burst damage.
Anne: Miracle Fairy is used to provide a huge ATK buff that lasts for 10 seconds for Snow White. This means when paired with Miranda, Snow White can charge her burst to 1000% and maximize her damage. Anne’s burst also provides the ability to revive a fallen attacker unit, which can be useful in some spots.
- Pros:
- Great team against every type of PVE content if Snow White is highly invested.
- Flexible team, can replace extra buffer (Anne: Miracle Fairy/Yulha) for high DPS units such as Modernia and Scarlet if Snow White can one shot elite mobs for Campaign stages.
- Cons:
- Requires very high investment to work well. Snow White has to be very invested such as having at least level 8 burst. Buffers such as Anne: Miracle Fairy also needs a high skill levels on crucial skills to clear stages with very large CP deficit.
- Requires manual play such as controlling Centi to charge burst gauge and controlling Snow White to release her burst at the right timing. Positioning also has to be optimal for certain stages, so that Snow White’s burst can hit several boss parts. (For example, Boss Modernia’s core and wings)
Burst 1 Replacements
Miranda provides a huge ATK buff and crit damage buff to one unit with the highest ATK on the team. The buffs also last for 10 seconds, which means you can charge Snow White’s burst to the max 1000% before releasing. However, you do have to make sure that Snow White has the highest ATK on the team when using Miranda.
N102 provides a decent ATK buff to the entire team. N102 is nowhere close to Liter and Miranda here as a replacement but better than having no buffs. (Sad Literless noises)
Burst 2 Replacements
Anis is used in Campaign stages where you need to manipulate the burst gauge if you don’t have Centi.
Novel is not so a replacement for Centi, but is instead used in single boss fights to maximize damage. Novel’s burst inflicts a damage taken increase debuff on enemies, which is effectively an ATK buff for your entire team.
Flex Replacements
Yulha is often used as a replacement for Anne: Miracle Fairy since Yulha’s Skill 2 also provides a huge ATK buff for Snow White. However, Yulha’s Skill 2 activates every 30 seconds after battle starts, which can be harder to play around compared to Anne’s burst.
Maxwell has great synergy with Snow White, with her Skill 1 providing great ATK buff for Snow White. Maxwell’s own burst also deals very good damage to elite mobs and bosses.
Poli provides a good ATK buff for Snow White, and also gives the entire team more survivability with her shield. She also has good burst gen being a Shotgun unit. However, Poli is a B2 with 40s CD, which means she has to be paired with another B2 for most stages to be able to activate burst every 20s.
Harran is used when u need an AOE burst that instantly wipes out mobs if you don’t have Scarlet. Harran also provides decent burst gen from her Skill 1 and if you manual her to quick spam attacks.
Neon is used solely when paired with Miranda. Neon’s role here is to increase crit rate, which reduces the RNG grind needed for Snow White’s burst to crit when trying to one shot a boss or deal massive damage to send a boss into next phase. (Gravedigger/Alteisen in Special Interception) Note: Impractical for Campaign stages with large CP deficit as mobs will wipe you out
Alice Maxwell Carry (Boss Stages)
This team’s core units are Alice and Maxwell. This team is similar to Snow White Carry in many ways.
Alice and Maxwell both require huge amount of investment to work well in boss stages with large CP deficit. With high investment, Alice and Maxwell both provide insane DPS that can shred through single boss fights. This team however does require more manual play and has a high skill ceiling to achieve its highest potential.
Refer to Liter’s role in the general meta team section.
Novel is used solely for single boss fights, which is also where this team shines the brightest. Novel’s burst inflicts a damage taken increase debuff on enemies, which is effectively an ATK buff for your entire team.
Alice’s Skill 2 provides her attacks with the pierce effect, which can be good in normal stages to hit multiple enemies at once when lined up perfectly. This effect however performs best in boss fights where the boss has core, such as Modernia, and also boss with multiple parts such as Chatterbox. Alice’s other skills increases her own DPS significantly, making her a DPS machine.
Maxwell’s Skill 1 synergizes perfectly with Alice, providing Alice extra ATK and charge speed buff. Maxwell’s burst also deals massive damage, which helps Alice to deal with boss parts faster and also elite mobs.
Privaty’s Skill 1 provides ATK buff and reload buff, which is crucial for Alice. Privaty’s burst also provides an AOE stun, which covers Alice and Maxwell weakness of struggling against bunch of mob waves.
- Pros:
- Very strong late game team vs boss fights, excels in Union Raid
- Works very well in boss fights where breaking parts is important such as Special Interception Alteisen and Union Raid Modernia
- Cons:
- Requires very high investment for crucial skills in order to work well. Refer to skill priority guide for more info.
- Requires manual play on Alice, which will need practice
Burst 1 Replacements
Volume provides valuable CDR to the entire team, which allows Alice and Maxwell to use more burst rotations that greatly increases their damage output especially in boss fights.
N102 provides a decent ATK buff to the entire team, however does not offer any CDR.
Burst 2 Replacements
Admi is normally paired with Privaty here to provide max reload speed for Alice, when both Admi’s burst level and Privaty’s Skill 1 level are still low (around 3 to 5). Once these 2 skills have high enough level, you can either use only Admi and swap out Privaty for other flex units, or swap out Admi for other B2 depending on different situations. (Don’t forget about the B2 replacements mentioned for the general meta team and also Centi)
Flex Replacements
No specific good replacements for this particular team. Refer to the general meta team main units and replacement units and choose one of them depending on situations.
For example, use Modernia/Scarlet if you need more DPS or wave clear. Use Rapunzel/Noise if you need more survivability.
Bunny Team (Boss Stages)
This team has it all. CDR, healing, damage capability/support you need to get through any boss. Probably the best balanced team when getting through boss battle.
Blanc Gives the team healing on par with Rapunzel and provides a damage taken debuff that is even better than Novel’s. However she needs to be paired with Noir so she has a 20s CD instead of 60s. Noir herself isn’t bad as she is able to buff the teams offensive capabilities, and as a SG unit is able to dish out rather decent damage. The other B2’s are however your hardest hitting Nikke’s are.
Burst 1 Replacements
Volume to reduce Cooldown of full bursts.
unfortunately you are unable to replace Blanc or Noir, as it is essential for them to be paired together due to the nature of their kits.
Shotgun Team
Shotgun teams are mainly used for close range Campaign stages and against large bosses such as Gravedigger (Gravedigger is encountered in Campaign, Tribe tower and also Interception) and Bulwark raptures (shield elite mob/boss). These 2 scenarios allow Shotgun units to hit all their pellets consistently, dealing high amount of damage and provide high burst gen for more burst rotations.
For this section, only Shotgun units will be mentioned as replacements, but having 3 Shotguns in team is usually good enough for close range stages and large bosses. Feel free to slot in replacements from the general meta team if you have to use weaker Shotgun units in team in order to have full Shotgun team.
- Pros:
- Great team against Gravedigger and other large, close range bosses/stages in Campaign.
- Works well even at low investment (Level 4 for crucial skills, check here)
- Cons:
- Weak against mid to long range stages
Without Pepper
Full DPS team, works best in Gravedigger where you only have to worry about breaking circles and missiles.
Read about Liter’s role here since it’s already mentioned.
Viper and Guilty are both Shotgun units that deal good DPS on their own.
The more important units are Sugar and Drake, especially Sugar. Upon entering full burst, Sugar’s Skill 2 at level 1 increases ally Shotgun units’ max ammo capacity by almost half. This greatly increases Shotgun’s team DPS uptime. Drake provides decent ATK buff and hit rate buff with her Skill 1, her Skill 2 also helps to deal with the very squishy mobs hidden in long range, which Shotgun teams struggle to deal with.
With Pepper
This team is used when you need healing in certain stages, or you don’t have Liter but have Pepper and Dolla. This team does not work as well as the team without Pepper against Gravedigger.
IMPORTANT: Pepper is highly recommended to be paired with Dolla for CDR, navigating Campaign and Tribe tower stages is difficult without CDR as you face the awkward situation of burst being on CD even with burst gauge being full. Those few seconds might be enough for the raptures to wipe out your team.
Pepper provides healing and decent damage, Dolla provides CDR and decent ATK buff to the entire team, Guilty provides good DPS being a Shotgun unit.
Burst 1 Replacements (For team without Pepper)
Volume is used here mainly for CDR, as crit buffs don’t really do much in this game.
N102 provides a decent ATK buff to the entire team, however does not offer any CDR.
Burst 2 Replacements (For both teams)
![]() Guilty | ![]() Rupee | ![]() Dolla | ![]() Viper |
Guilty does great DPS on her own, and is a Shotgun unit. Only problem with Guilty is that you can only acquire her through Liberation, which means it will take a long time before you get her if you are a newer player.
Rupee deals good DPS on her own and provides a decent attack buff to the entire team. Use Rupee when you already have a CDR buffer unit in Liter or Volume.
Dolla provides decent attack buff and is the only B2 unit that provides CDR to the entire team. Use Dolla when you use N102 in team without Pepper since N102 does not provide CDR.
Viper does great DPS on her own, and is a Shotgun unit.
Burst 3 Replacements (For both teams)
Maiden provides a decent AOE burst to deal with mob waves that are in long range, which is a weakness of Shotgun team. However, Maiden Skill 2 has a taunt effect, which can get her killed quickly in Campaign stages with large CP deficits.
Isabel requires time to stack up her Skill 1 and burst to have maximum DPS, which unfortunately isn’t the case for most Campaign stages. Isabel does work well versus Gravedigger since it’s a 3 minute fight. However, Isabel’s burst reduce full burst time by 5 seconds. This means if you use Isabel’s burst, you will not have burst off cooldown without enough CDR buffs. Therefore, she has to be paired with both Liter/Volume and Dolla to perform well.
Neve can actually outdamage Sugar and Drake, but does not provide useful team buffs like they do. Another issue with Neve outside of gameplay is that Neve is a limited unit, only acquired by players who participated in the Miracle Snow event during December 2022.
Flex replacements (For both teams)
![]() Poli |
Poli is used mainly for her burst which provides a great ATK buff for the entire team upon entering full burst. She is also a B2 with 40s CD, which means she has to be paired with another B2 with 20s or 40s CD.
Units manual play recommended

Last Bullet Effect Units
Pepper should be played manually to activate her last bullet effect from Skill 2 more often if you need more healing. You should fire as soon as she finishes 1 clip of reload, compared to only firing after a full reload if she’s played on auto. Pairing with Pepper also helps to activate her last bullet effect more often, as Privaty’s Skill 1 will cut everyone’s ammo in half.
Privaty should be played manually when using her burst on Campaign stages where the elite mob and boss can be stunned. You should manually control Privaty and fire until she has around 25 ammos left before using her burst and aiming at the elite mob or boss to activate her Skill 2 last bullet bonus damage effect. Depending on device, number of ammo left will vary. Higher FPS device can allow up to 28 ammos, lower FPS device needs ammo to be left at 20 or lower.
Laplace can be played manually by quick firing her attacks to trigger her last bullet effect more often to deal higher DPS. Pairing Laplace with Privaty also helps to activate her last bullet effect more often, as Privaty’s Skill 1 will cut everyone’s ammo in half.
Aiming and positioning for burst units
Snow White should be played manually so that her burst deals maximum damage on the intended target. If left on auto, Snow White might fire her burst at a random mob instead of elite mob or boss in Campaign stages. In boss fights, if the boss jumps or teleport away, Snow White on auto will release her burst before it’s fully charged, which reduces her damage significantly.
Maxwell should be played manually for the same reason as Snow White.
Fast firing units
Alice should be played manually to maximize her DPS. By firing her attacks quickly, you gain higher burst gen which leads to more burst rotations. During her burst, her DPS is also higher when controlling her manually to rapid fire, which cancels out the animation of her body turning around. Watch the video below to understand this better.
Centi and Anis should both be manually played in stages where you need them for rapid burst gen. Refer to the video above.
The Shotgun Team variations are the same as Snow White Team.
It’s been fixed!
Quite the useful guide, thanks for the work!
Great guide! I was finally able to kill gravedigger in interception S, and it was shockingly easy to do so with a shotgun team (liter, poli, sugar, drake, dolla). Very high damage and burst after burst. Remember to use resilience cores on sugar and drake to make them reload faster. Cheers
Please bring back the “Last Bullet” Team with the different options that was in this guide before the update. My strongest and most readily available characters were in that formation.
That’s not really a comp currently, nothing that utilizes it is worth focusing upon too hard just for that effect. I mean, obviously some units get benefit from it, but you don’t focus it in general.
thank support
You guys forgot to list Guilty as a burst 2 unit people would want to use.
Lol, nevermind, noticed you listed her later on.
can you make a guide on harmony cubes like best harmony cubes for particular characters
Yup! that’s coming soon, and has been planned for awhile
Great update to this article. This is much more informative and helpful then just listing different possible teams. Please do a similar update for the arena team composition article. 😊
Can you add simulation team like charge team?
This is a great guide! I don’t have all Nikkes so seeing replacements are great with all the in-depth explanation leaves me no further questions
Hoping to see more teams out there since we’re now having to need to build 5-man teams
Can we get a comp guide for Blanc/Noir team?
I would also like to see this added
Awesome guide
i was stuck in chapter 14 and now im almost at the end of 16 with the team suggested
Hope this guide gets updated to the level of the new Special Arena guide too!
Wish the creators would make more team comps. These are super useful but now with different bosses, characters, and modes this REALLY needs an update.
Yup! plan to update this soon~
Can’t wait for update to this guide, I’m interested to see if 2B and A2 are viable and where they’d fit.
