Rapi: Red Hood Best Builds, Teams, and How to Play

You're finally awake. You've attended the protest, haven't you?

Overview

  • Very versatile Nikke (Can be used as B1/B3)
  • Can be used as a hybrid CDR/DPS or pure DPS
  • Can dish out damage in the same tier as Scarlet: Black Shadow and Cinderella with the right gear rolls (Max ammo) and teams
  • Dependent on Stable 60 FPS or noticeable DPS loss will occur
  • First Nikke that is strong against TWO Elements, which is important in story mode/Solo/Union raid clearing
  • MUST pull

Newbie/Incomplete Box Section

Rapi: Red Hood can fill a multitude of roles when it comes to new Commanders. This is due to her unique nature of being able to be a cooldown reduction Nikke (Which is pretty much mandatory for every proper team) if there is no burst I Nikke present. Rapi becomes a full DPS if there is a burst I Nikke in the team, as she provides herself with massive ATK buffs to herself instead of Cool down reduction.

Preferably Rapi wants to be burst III, as her buffing capabilities for the team isn’t great and her personal damage gets reduced, but in no means she’s a bad burst I. Rapi can deal great DPS even as a Burst I, making her a great option for Commanders who don’t have Liter or Red hood for any game mode.

Rapi excels in both Boss fights and campaign, being able to take on fire weak and iron weak stages with ease. Since Rapi has damage around the same tier as Scarlet: Black Shadow and Cinderella (SSS), beating out our current best MG DPS, Modernia.

Basic Information

  • Skill 1: Battlefield Asessment
  • Skill 2: Attachable Projectiles
  • Burst: Power of Inheritance
  • Cooldown: 40s
  • Rarity: SSR
  • Burst: III
  • Weapon: MG
  • Class: Attacker
  • Element: Fire
  • Manufacturer: Elysion (Over-Spec)
  • Squad: Counters
  • Weapon Name: MG: Seven Dwarves 0

Normal Attack Information

Her normal Attacks are on par with the average MG user (5.5% per shot), and has no noticeable special attributes except for her projectile attachments which deal periodic damage based on normal attacks fired.

As for all MGs, they are reliant on stable FPS (frames per second) to deal their intended damage due to how the game works. if the Commander is playing on low FPS, MGs have a significantly slower fire rate. This applies for every weapon, but heavily affects fast firing weapons more, and more so for Rapi as her skills rely on basic attacks.

Skill 1: Battlefield Assessment

Activates at the start of battle and at the end of Full Burst.
Effects differ according to squad formation. Activates only the corresponding effect
Affects self if there are no Burst Stage I allies.
Combat Assist: Changes to Burst phase I continuously
Affects self if there are Burst Stage I allies.
Removes Combat Assist.
Affects all allies if in Combat Assist status when entering Full Burst.
Cooldown of Burst Skill ▼ 7.48 sec
Attack Damage ▲ 8.02% for 10 sec.
Affects self if not in Combat Assist status when entering Full Burst.
ATK ▲ 95.04% for 10 sec.
Damage to interruption Parts ▲ 48% for I0 sec.

Rather simple but lengthy skill, let’s break it down a bit:

The game checks if there is a Burst I Nikke at the start of the round and at the end of every full burst, this will decide what “role” Rapi: Red Hood will be in the team via Combat Assist status (CDR or Full DPS). If a Burst I Nikke gets destroyed DURING full burst, Rapi: Red Hood will be assigned Combat Assist status (CDR) after, giving the team a “second chance” which may be useful in some boss battles. this does not work if the Burst I Nikke gets destroyed outside of full burst as it checks for “Combat Assist” status at the end of a full burst

Burst I Combat Assist Change during full burst

Assist Status (CDR)

Rapi: Red Hood as a CDR is more than viable if the Commander does not have proper burst I Nikkes. If the Player does not have Liter, Dorothy, D:Killer Wife or Rouge to be slotted as their dedicated CDR Nikke, then it would be more than worth using Rapi: Red hood as a CDR despite the personal DPS loss.

Burst II CDRs are usually not recommended as the current CDRs for Burst II (Dolla, Helm: Aquamarine outside of electric weak bosses) are underwhelming in a very competitive spot. Most Meta Burst IIs have very oppressive damage multipliers and/or survivability utility. So slotting in a non-CDR burst I and a CDR burst II is not worth it and should just have Rapi: Red Hood as Burst I instead in these cases.

There are also cases where you can use Rapi: Red hood as a CDR in campaign mode if the Commander does not have/use Red hood as a solo burst I Nikke. Rapi: Red Hood can be preferred over Liter at times due to the instant availability of full burst throughout the match and great personal damage. Liter/Volume needs to ramp up their Cooldown reduction, the downtime can be simply too long in some Campaign matches where instant full bursts are needed back to back so the Raptures don’t have a chance to pick off a Nikke.

Rapi: Red Hood does not have any conditions for her CDR to activate unlike D:killer wife or Rouge. Stage maps that need long cover times shouldn’t be an issue either if using her as a Burst I Nikke.

Pairing

Rapi: Red hood does want to be in teams that don’t rely heavily on Liter’s attack buffs to deal increased damage if opting to use her as a CDR. Examples would be teams with DPSs that have high innate ATK buffs (Scarlet, Scarlet: Black Shadow, Red Hood, Quency: Escape Queen, Etc).

DPS

This should be her preferred role more often than not if the Commander has a complete Nikke roster, especially when using her on element advantage content. This is because outside of Combat Assist status, Rapi: Red hood gains a 95% Attack up buff per full burst, which is amazing for MG Nikkes.

Rapi: Red Hood deals around 2x more damage if she is in non-combat assist status.

Interruption Parts (QTEs)

Interruption Parts are the red circles that appear in some bosses to cancel out a powerful attack. Rapi: Red Hood increases the damage dealt to these circles making them easier to break. Damage dealt to these circles is usually counted against the boss as well, which can be a nifty minor DPS boost against bosses with tanky/multiple QTE circles.

Skill 2: Attachable Projectiles

Activates at the start of battle. Affects self.
Applies damage as strong element to Electric Code enemies continuously.
Projectile attachment damage ▲ 150.72% continuously.
Projectile explosion damage ▲ 100.6% continuously

Activates after 120 normal attack(s). Affects self.
Attachable Projectiles
Effect: Launches attachable projectiles that attach to hit locations.
When entering Full Burst, the projectiles explode.
Projectile attachment damage: Deals 88.11% of final ATK as damage
Projectile explosion damage: Deals 88.11% of final ATK as damage.
Max Ammunition Capacity: 1 round(s).

This skill is what makes Rapi: Red Hood very unique, she is strong against 2 elements instead of one. all elemental buffs given from overloaded gear and teammates (Asuka Skill 2) will affect the damage of the 2 elements she’s strong against. However, despite being strong against two elements, she is not considered as having two elements, so electric specific buffers will not affect Rapi: Red Hood.

Rapi: Red Hood can also break the QTEs of both Wind type and Electric type bosses, which is a trait unique to her. This opens up more viable teams for solo raid and anomaly interception teams (Ultralisk and Indivilia).

Rapi: Red Hood Breaking Electric QTE as a Fire Coded Nikke

Rapi: Red Hood Projectiles are bright red sparkles on enemies when attached. These projectiles explode if the mob dies, attaches to nothing, or anytime during full burst mode. the explosion range for these projectiles are rather large and or capable of damaging multiple raptures in a rather large radius. this gives her rather OK AoE damaging capabilities, but don’t expect her explosions alone to deal with full health mobs. Her projectiles can however easily clear out environmental terrain which can be amazing for teams that can’t do that easily in Campaign mode. For example, Cinderella teams, teams with no pierce Nikkes, and teams with no MG Nikkes. This can be double edged in pierce burst gen teams as the Commanders only way of generating burst gen outside of hitting Raptures are now most likely destroyed.

Burst: Power of Inheritance

When used in Stage 1: Squad Support Action Style
Affects self.
Cooldown of Burst Skill ▼ 20 sec.
Explosion Radius ▲ 100.62% for 10 sec.
Affects all allies.
ATK ▲ 18.01% of caster’s ATK for 10 sec.
When used in Stage 3: High-Mobility Close-Range Combat Weapon
Affects the enemy nearest to the crosshair.
Deals 2808% of final ATK as additional damage.
Affects self.
Explosion Radius ▲ 100.62% for 10 sec.
Projectile attachment damage ▲ 421.2% for I0 sec
Skill 2: attachable projectiles trigger count condition ▼ 6O times for I0 sec

When using Rapi: Red Hood as a Burst I, her burst is reduced by 20s, effectively making her a 20s Cooldown Nikke. Her burst I attack buff is nothing to scuff at as it lasts 10s instead of the usual 5s, and has decent values. she’s almost half the offensive buffing capability of Liter throughout a full burst.

This burst is also where a lot of her damage comes from when using her as a burst III, her projectile attachment damage has more DPS than her auto attacks during her burst. These projectiles can also core hit, which means core hit damage buffers such as Naga and Asuka can pair very well with her.

Campaign

Simply a Meta Nikke in Campaign. Not only can she be a CDR (Which already makes Rapi: Red Hood Meta), she can be used in a lot of stages in element-based teams due to her dual element nature. Rapi: Red Hood is basically the BiS burst I Nikke in most stages if the Commander does not want to do the solo Red Hood burst I strat, which can be uncomfortable for some Commanders to play around with.

Rapi: Red Hood being BiS as Burst I (exc. Red Hood) in most cases is due to her instant full burst availability without the need for ramping it up (Liter, Volume) or Conditions (Rouge, D:Killer Wife, Dorothy). the no-nonsense cooldown reduction can be extremely important in most stages as it gives the raptures no time to breathe (given enough DPS) to attack your Nikkes. That alone wouldn’t be enough to push her to meta, but she has half the offensive buffing capabilities of Liter, while having DPS like damage as well.

She can fit in pretty much any team as her buffs are universal and her kit is rather self contained as a burst I and burst III. Will list down element specific teams for both her elements still.

Iron Team (Strong Against Electric/Burst III)

Liter,Crown,Red Hood,Rapi: Red Hood,Naga

Our second (real) DPS for Iron teams have arrived! D:killer wife can replace Liter in this team if instant CDR is needed.

Rotation

Used if 4 full bursts are needed to clear a map, rotation focuses on putting Red Hood’s burst I buff a bit more active in battle.

Red Hood -> Crown -> Red Hood
Liter -> Crown -> Rapi
Liter -> Crown -> Red Hood
Stall last enemy until Red Hood B1 Cooldown is done
Red Hood -> Crown -> Rapi (Boss Wave)

Note: If D:killer wife is slotted instead for instant CDR, shooting at air still counts for the CDR skill proc. Can be used when stalling last enemy to get Red Hood burst I faster.

Red Hood -> Crown -> Red Hood
Liter -> Crown -> Rapi
Stall last enemy until Red Hood B1 Cooldown is done
Red Hood -> Crown -> Rapi

Fire Team (Strong against Wind/Burst I)

Crown,Rapi: Red Hood,Alice,Asuka,Naga

Since we have a multitude of top tier Nikkes on fire code, Rapi: Red Hood can actually be a Burst I in this team, being a both a solid buffer while dishing out great consistent DPS. Alice and Asuka should be more than enough to wipe out mob waves. Do make sure to burst with Alice at the boss wave If possible.

Asuka can be replaced with Modernia.

Generalist Team (Burst I/III)

Basically just your best DPSs/CDR and Rapi as Burst I or Burst III. She works well with every team. Can’t really go wrong with her.

Arena

Rapi: Red Hood is more of a PvE Nikke than a PvP nikke. However, even though her burst generation is terrible, and her DPS output and damage is nerfed by 50% in Pvp, she can still be effectively used for some Attacking strategies for SP or Rookie Arena. While restrictive in teambuilding, the teams that she does work in are quite effective. To know more about her PvP performance, visit this guide:

Special Interception | Union Raid | Solo Raid

Anomaly Interception

Ultra

Liter,Crown,Rapi: Red Hood,Red Hood,Helm: Aquamarine

A simple use-case. She can work like an Iron Nikke due to her Skill 2, and can actually out-DPS the previous best iron DPS, Red Hood. Directly replacing Maxwell/SnowWhite as B3, she makes it so much easier to get to higher stages in Ultra AI, provided your FPS is stable enough for her to work at peak potential.

Indivilia

Crown,Asuka,Naga,Rapi: Red Hood,Alice

A surprising turn of events. You would expect RRH to be used as B3, right? Turns out, the best team here is when she is used as a B1 unit. This is due to her high synergy with Asuka, who is able to buff damage dealt to core, and is also able to dish out good damage herself. With crown buffing Rapi’s B1 every burst, she can actually out damage Asuka even as a B1 unit here. This team has been solidly proven to get stage 9 if all 3 main DPS are properly invested into, and is the easiest team to progress for higher stages on Indivilia.

Kraken

Crown,Rapi: Red Hood,Scarlet: Black Shadow,Alice,Naga

Core hits seem to favour Rapi, and we see her replacing Liter almost everywhere on bossing. A well invested Rapi:RH will get you to at least an equal, but probably better damage output for Kraken.

Harvester

Crown,Rapi: Red Hood,Quency: Escape Queen,Ludmilla: Winter Owner,Naga

Yet again, we see RRH replacing Liter. Proven to hit stage 9, this team will help clear any annoying raptures more easily due to Rapi’s wave clearing ability.

Solo Raids

Rapi is expected to take over the B3 spot in Solo Raids due to how strong her damage dealt is. In the distant future, when there are enough units to powercreep her, she may be used a B1, but that time is probably not now. Realistically, she can fit in any team, but she wants to be alongside units that maximise her shooting uptime.

Fire team and variations

Liter,Crown,Rapi: Red Hood,Asuka,Modernia

Crown can be replaced by Grave if she is occupied. However, Crown is definitely the best for her due to the reload speed buff. Rapi faces a severe DPS loss if she reloads due to her high reload time and wind up.
Grave variation has high burst generation, which allows for one extra burst with Liter at the end of battle, but provides very little ammo support for RRH. However, Grave does buff Asuka more than Crown can.
Asuka synergizes with RRH since she buffs damage dealt to core in fire allies. She can be replaced with Rei if there is no core to boost attack damage and ATK instead.
This team can be used for both iron and fire weak bosses, since Asuka buffs core damage dealt regardless of the boss.

Iron team and variations

Liter,Crown,Rapi: Red Hood,Red Hood,Helm: Aquamarine

Crown may be replaced by Grave since Grave buffs Red Hood insanely well. Red Hood herself can be replaced by a variety of other units, but ideally someone who can provide burst gen is preferred. The difference between the fire team here is that S.Helm takes over the flex spot. The damage reduction debuff on the boss will provide a new separate multiplier and increase damage immensely for both of these monster DPS.

Bunnies team

Liter,Blanc,Rapi: Red Hood,Flex B3,Noir

Another team that effectively houses RRH is the bunnies team with Noir, since Noir is able to provide ammo buffs to RRH to allow her to keep shooting. With a lvl7 bastion cube and 4 ammo on OL, you can make it so that RRH only reloads one time over 3 minutes. The choice for 2nd B3 is entirely flexible, but a unit with burst generation is preferred.

Tia Naga

Tia,Liter,Naga,Rapi: Red Hood,Asuka

The only team that does not really provide any ammo support, but does favour RRH whenever the core uptime is high enough. RRH enjoys something similar to what xLudmilla enjoys: she is able to core hit at perfect accuracy, and is not forced into being an off-burst B3 like Modernia. This means that Tiga can effectively be used to increase RRH’s damage immensely due to the high amount of offensive buffs they provide. Even if there’s no ammo buffs, the value of buffs they provide justified their use alongside RRH, making them one of the top options to use for RRH.

Strengths

  • First dual element Nikke
  • DPS can rival SBS and Cinderella
  • Flexible in many teams due to being dual element and while also being able to excel in any of the Two burst slots
  • Amazing in pretty much all modes, except for PvP, which she can be decent in
  • Basically a “all-in-one” Nikke for new Commanders and pretty much the most recommended to Nikke to get first
  • Finally found her purpose, being meta in every tier list

Weaknesses

  • Can’t outDPS her trauma away (none really)

Note: only nitpick would be she’s not great in pvp, and her DPS can be severely lowered if game FPS is below 60

Should you pull?

Absolutely, this is the first Nikke I’d recommend to get MLB, even if you’re a low spender. She’s simply too versatile and can work in so many comps. Power creeping her means Power creeping Scarlet: Black Shadow and Cinderella, not happening any time soon.

    • Hi, for me Cinderella was 10x easier pulls then SSR Rapi @ 1% rates, even got 3 extra copy’s of cinderella toward the end of that events, but on SSR Rapi was a whole different story, it’s given alot of players a very difficult time on pulling rate, wonder why is that, think shift up is out of there mind by making this hard to pull in the game, so Rapi is basally a better Modernia ?

      • Its all RNG. You can hit up 3x ludmilla like i did and then not hit anything in 200 pulls. Avarage i got one from shop and didnt hit anything myself.

      • I apologize, that was an emotional reaction to spending a lot on Cindy and now Red Rapi being what she is. You are correct, they are both worth it. On that note, could a team consist of (from left to right) Crown, Red Hood, Cindy, Red Rapi, and Naga? Red Hood and Red Rapi can take care of burst 1 alternatively, Criwn always burst 2 with Naga for backup, then burst 3 just alternating? I like Liter but I really want to replace her if possible. Is that enough healing and CDR?

      • Who knows brotha, I’m currently using that and blasting the game Crown, Cinderella, Redhood, RH Rapi and Modernia, RH Rapi completely replaces liter for me, she’s just TOO. INSANE. RH sniper charges super fast, Cinderella just bonks bosses and Modernia does great damage without burst, and for campaign I just burst on modernia depends on situation, easiest chapter 26 hard mode of my life.

  1. She’s definitely pretty crazy. I was stuck on Elysion tower and campaign/hard mode levels and just at 7/7/7 and unleveled OL gear she blasted me past all of those hard stuck spots (replaced Liter on the campaign/hard team).

  2. Are you a moron naturally or did your parents lobotomize you? She’s literally one of the best units in the game.

  3. Hey .GG I think you need to start doing things about the troll or braindead comments because they’re starting to become way more common than they should

    • Brutalsniper’s comment is most likely copium, you see it all the time in games with a gacha system. He probably lost all his draws and wanted to rant or justify not having Rapi.

      • nah this has been going on for awhile with multiple trolls/ low IQ people. they should change the comments to premium only or sum

  4. Is there any point in spending tickets to buy additional copies? Or can this character be selected later in the wish list?
