That’s a fair stance. I think since he’s meant to be a stand in for the player in game they wanted to make him mute in the series but also I feel like the story may not work as well with him being mute.
TBH if its “off duty tales” from the outpost they could easily just make it hugely NikkexNikke-focused, like the Brief Encounters except without us (the commander) present at all moments, yaknow? I think it has potential
