Maiden: Ice Rose Best Builds, Teams, and How to Play

Butt turns Pelvises to Pelvain'ts

Overview

  • Very strong Electric Nikke that can be both played as a pure support or DPS in mono electric teams
  • Very potent buffs for new players who don’t have Overloaded gear or elemental damage rolls on their electric DPS’s on Electric weak content.
  • Can be used as a pure buffer or DPS
  • Higher Single target personal damage than Scarlet and DPS’s in Scarlet’s tier.
  • Great PvP Nikke due to her high burst gen capabilities, Potential counter to Jackal teams and strong synergy with Biscuit
  • Strong Elysion option in Elysion tower due to lack of DPS’s in that manufacturer tower
  • Part of best team in electric weak anomaly interception as of now, and a must have for competitive electric-weak solo raids/union raids
  • Not a lot of strong electric DPSs, with her best in slot team requiring a Pilgrim/Seasonal Nikkes which other viable replacements being very few.

Basic Information

  • Skill 1: Mediation
  • Skill 2: Blessings Upon You
  • Burst: Diamond Dust
  • Cooldown: 40s
  • Rarity: SSR
  • Burst: III
  • Weapon: RL
  • Class: Defender
  • Element: Electric
  • Manufacturer: Elysion
  • Squad: Extrinsic
  • Weapon Name: Diamond Dust

Skill 1: Meditation

Activates when entering Burst Stage 1. Affects self when MP is 0.
MP recovers by 1. MP can be accumulated up to a maximum of 12. All accumulated MP is consumed when using Burst Skill.
Activates when entering Full Burst. Affects self when MP is above 1.
MP replenishes by 1 MP can be accumulated up to a maximum of 12. All accumulated MP is consumed when using Burst Skill.
Activates when attacking with Full Charge for 6 time(s).Affects self.
Max HP ▲ 6.34% without restoring HP for 15 sec, stacks up to I0 time(s)

Maiden’s skill 1 has some weird wording that may look a bit deceiving.

Her first MP gain (0 -> 1) is worded as RECOVER which does not proc her skill 2 Damage as strong element buff ▲ for the team.

Her second MP gain (1 -> 2+) is worded as REPLENISH and procures her skill 2 Damage as strong element buff ▲ for the team. However if Maiden bursts, the game does NOT count this as replenishing as the game checks after Maiden uses her MP (0). If Maiden is used as a full DPS, her skill 2 team buff uptime is only 40%.

If Maiden Burst isn’t used
If Maiden burst is used

This means that Maiden has two viable playstyles. a Buffer/Nuker or a DPS. Maiden also takes around 82s~ + reload time to fully stack her HP buffs.

When

Maiden can be played as a buffer/Nuker if the Commander has 2 of the strongest electric DPSs fully raised (optimal overloaded gear rolls + dupes) or if Maiden isn’t raised properly yet.

Cinderella,anis: sparkling summer

If the Commander does not have these two Nikkes in the team, use Maiden: Ice Rose as a pure DPS. This is because a lot of Maiden’s personal damage is tied to her bursting often

How

The Commander wants to not burst with Maiden: Ice Rose until the last burst of the round. Maiden: Ice Rose should have 12 stacks of MP if there is a cooldown reduction Nikke in the team. Maiden will then have 12 high-damaging projectiles to hurl against the boss

When

The player wants to use Maiden as a DPS if the Commander does not have two of the strongest electric DPSs (Cinderella, Anis: sparkling Summer). Since Maiden: Ice Rose outclasses every other DPS, it’s best to use her as a main burst instead. This is because she deals 50% more damage when using her as a DPS vs Buffer due to her self-buffs when bursting from her skill 2.

How

Well, just burst with her as much as you can. However Maiden: Ice Rose does want to burst second at the start of every round. Maiden will only fire one projectile when bursting with her first.

Skill 2: Blessings Upon You

Activates when MP is replenished. Affects all Electric Code allies except for self.
Damage as strong element ▲ 40.9% for I0 sec.
ATK ▲ 20.9% of caster’s ATK for I0 sec.
Activates when MP is used. Affects self.
Damage as strong element ▲ 31.68% for 10 sec
ATK ▲ 3.2% of caster’s final Max HP for I0 sec.
Activates when attacking with Full Charge for 1 time(s). Affects 1 enemy unit(s) nearest to the crosshair.
Deals 547.62% of final ATK as damage

Maiden: Ice Rose has a rare buff that only one other Nikke can give, and that is damage against strong element. This buff alone makes her very important for solo raids and electric weak content.

Although mostly relevant in late game (Mostly only available with late game gear) and if the Commander has a lot of Nikkes to play with

Using a character with a stronger element against a boss/campaign stage is usually recommended. Especially in solo raid and union raid battles. This is because this acts as a final multiplier to damage dealt.

(ATK x Buffs x Skill modifiers) x Element Damage = Final Damage

This allows S tier DPS’s to deal similar damage to SS or SSS tier DPS’s if said characters have high enough elemental damage (80%+) if the S tier DPS has elemental advantage and the higher tier characters don’t.

It isn’t recommended to overload lower-tier characters purely for this reason though.

Maiden’s self-attack and team element buff CAN’T be active at the same time. This is due to how her skill 1 is worded (check skill 1 explanation). This means that Maiden’s self buffs and team buffs are 40%~ uptime each, alternating between each other if using her as a DPS. 80%~ uptime on her team buffs if using her as a support.

Maiden Ice Rose provides herself with a big ATK buff based on final max HP, similar to Cinderella.

Stats

Assume No recycling level bonuses/Affection bond point bonuses/No gear/etc

Defender HP at level 400 is:

2,483,759 HP x 0.032 = 74,512 ATK

Base defender ATK is = 60,212 ATK

Final ATK (without other buffs) = 134,724 ATK

For comparison, level 400 Attacker has = 90,318 ATK

Normal Attack Calculations

Although, similar to Cinderella, Maiden doesn’t have her charge speed. so we have to assume at auto-play, Maiden attacks at around 0.73x a second due to charge delays. Her damage would be

61.3 x 250% = 153% + 547% (Skill 2 Proc) x 0.73 (Shots per second) = 500% damage per second~

Which is not too far from Cinderella’s 602% Attack damage per second. However, Maiden’s ATK buff has a much lower uptime than Cinderella’s (80%~ vs 40%~), so expect Maiden’s Auto to deal around a slightly more than half of Cinderella’s Auto attacks due to higher HP buffs and HP conversion values

Burst: Diamond Dust

Affects I enemy unit(s) nearest to the crosshair.
Deals damage equal to 1372.8% of the sum of 10% ofthe caster’s final Max HP and the caster’s ATK.
Attacks continuously based on the current MP

Her burst hits hard due to how the conversion works.

10% of her final HP gets converted and added to her ATK values, which is then multiplied by her skill modifier (1372%).

let’s say a Nikke has 2,400,000 HP and 60k ATK (around Nikke level 400 defender values)

Maiden Burst values

Maiden’s HP -> ATK has been accounted for from her skill 2 (External and internal HP buffs are not considered)

2,400,000 x 0.10 = 200,000 + 134,000 (ATK)
334,000 x 1372% x 2 (MP stacks) = 9,164,960 DMG

Cinderella Burst Values (Comparison)

Cinderella HP -> ATK has been accounted for in this formula (External and internal HP buffs are not considered)

127,000 (ATK) x 14000% of ATK (Full stack burst + post patch values) = 17,780,000 DMG

Total DPS

Maiden: Ice Rose being around half the DPS of Cinderella (Best Boss Killer) while being able to buff other electric Nikkes is nothing to scuff at. Maiden’s personal DPS can also exceed Anis: Sparkling Summer. however, it is preferred to use Maiden as a pure supporter in Cinderella/Anis teams because of increased elemental damage up uptime for the team.

Maiden: Ice Rose just beats Scarlet’s personal DPS in almost all scenarios, with the only scenario being Scarlet can core hit consistently, which is rare. This makes Maiden: Ice Rose a good DPS even outside of electric weak content or teams.

Element Neutral Testing, Scarlet being more raised than Maiden by a good margin, with a team that favors Scarlet.

Boss is iron-weak, which is why Crown is dealing more DPS than Scarlet.

Campaign

Maiden is obviously rather niche in Campaign as she can only work with certain teams and in certain stages. Maiden is the best buffer to a rather mid’ish-team archetype in Campaign (Electric being one of the weakest elements in campaign). However, since elemental damage is very powerful, it’s still worth using her in stages that are weak against electric if the Commander does not have the top-tier options for Campaign.

Besides being a buffer, her other roles are being a boss nuker and a decent burst generator. Maiden can damage bosses severely with her burst once her stacks reach around 4+, which should come naturally if the player isn’t bursting with Maiden until the boss round.

Maiden has the potential to be better once better electric Nikkes for campaign is released, but as of now it is not worth using Maiden over current meta teams even in electric-weak content.

Elemental Cope

liter,crown,scarlet,Ein,Maiden: Ice Rose

Scarlet/Ein can be replaced with Anis: Sparkling Summer. Liter can be replaced with any burst I CDR. Remember to stall the run before heading to the final wave to stack up more MP to nuke the boss with.

Arena

We initially did not know how strong her base burst generation actually is, since the expected burst generation was of a normal RL unit. However, after some rigorous testing, we have been able to conclude that for any PvP fan out there, she is a must-pull unit. Maiden is a direct power-creep to every Clip SG currently present in Nikke. She does not feed, and hits just as hard, if not harder. She is yet another electric Nikke who is good in PvP, they just have a knack of being good at this, don’t they?

High Burst Gen, strong off burst presence, Defender HP and being able to counter Rosanna shenanigans, threat to Jackal link, strong synergy with Biscuit, and a niche support for all electric allies. Maiden is a very strong option to use in PvP, so do not miss out on this unit if you plan to stay competitive in your PvP bracket. Special Interception | Union Raid | Solo Raid

Maiden: Ice Rose already has top spot in Electric weak raids, pairing very nicely with Cinderella teams. Maiden: Ice Rose is also a very nice addition to the electric roster as well as Ein and Cinderella no longer need to compete over Anis: Sparkling Summer, and now both of them can comfortably be in separate teams.

Best in Slot Anomaly Interception Team (Electric)

Cinderella,Rouge,anis: sparkling summer,Crown,Maiden: Ice Rose

Most likely the best team to tackle Glass Slippers as of now. Two heavy hitters with Maiden: Ice Rose buffing them. Rouge (if strong enough) can one-shot the slippers during full burst + full charge. However if the Commander’s Rouge is not strong enough to do this, replace Anis: Sparkling Summer with Ein.

Use Anis: Sparkling Summer/Ein and Cinderella to burst, Use the last burst for Maiden: Ice Rose, she should have around 11-12 MP.

Best in Slot Solo Raid Team (Electric)

Cinderella,Rouge,Maiden: Ice Rose,Grave,Attacker

Grave can be replaced with Crown if the Commander doesn’t have a raised Ein team on standby: (Ein, Anis: Sparkling Summer, Crown, Exia with treasure, D:killer wife/B1 CDR)

If Grave is slotted, Flex slots can be Ludmilla: Winter Owner/Modernia/any MG, Red hood, or Maxwell. If Grave isn’t slotted, Red hood or Maxwell can be the flex slots. Red hood/Maxwell is important to the team because of their ability to generate burst via spamming sniper shots.

Grave has the unique ability to turn any MG into burst generation machines, which is why Grave teams have an increased amount of viable flex slots.

If healing is needed (rare for this team), slot in a off burst healer like Rapunzel or Alice: Wonderland Bunny

There isn’t much flexibility in Maiden’s Mono teams as the only other “viable” DPSs are Ein, Scarlet and Guillotine. with Scarlet/Guillotine requiring a healer.

Element Neutral

It’s not recommended to use Maiden: Ice Rose on element-neutral content, but she is viable. She does more damage than Scarlet without any downsides, or similar/equal damage to Ludmilla: Winter Owner with all core hits. However, Most of her wanted buffs are null.

Just use Maiden: Ice Rose with your most preferred buffers and DPSs

Strengths

  • Best Electric Supporter due to elemental damage up while also having great personal DPS
  • Maiden: Ice Rose in her BiS team is the strongest mono-element team, which makes anomaly intercept (electric) one of the easiest stages to stage 7+
  • Viable in Elysion tower (as 95% of other Elysion DPS’s aren’t)
  • Maiden’s higher than average burst generation and synergy/counters to top-tier Nikkes makes her strong in arena as well.
  • Released after NNN

Weaknesses

  • Maiden’s wanted buffs are locked to electric teams
  • Her best in slot team depends on the Commander having a pilgrim/seasonal Nikke, otherwise the team’s damage ceiling is lowered by a good amount.
  • Released during DDD

Should you pull?

Yes for both veterans and newbies, Maiden: Ice Rose has a strong niche, and that is against Electric weak stages, she’s the best hybrid DPS/buffer. Anis is still a more universal option (does not need electric weak), but luckily these two don’t directly compete with each other in solo raids and union raids as they both have separate optimal teams.

Even outside her Niche, she can deal more damage than Scarlet, Equal damage to Ludmilla: Winter Owner, and slightly less damage than Modernia.

Not pulling her would tank your rankings in electric-weak solo raid and to an extent Union raids for veterans. while newbies would be missing out on a limited/seasonal good DPS unit that isn’t a pilgrim, which are known to have low rates normally and on featured rate ups.

As a bonus, Maiden is found to be very good in Arena and can be used in champions arena in the future.

S2 > S1Maiden’s Skill one provides enough HP in which it is impactful enough to affect her DPS.

Her skill 2 a lot more utility and takes priority over skill 1. Maiden’s Skill 2 provides a rare Damage as strong element buff to other electric code allies. This alone makes very high value in solo raid and union raid content

Her burst equates to around 40%~ of her damage, Raise when possible.
