Land Eater Co-op Guide
Table of Contents
Intro
As always, this guide is tailored towards players who are aiming for leaderboard high scores or just want to understand the mechanics for this boss, since you are pretty much guaranteed Stage 9 for Co-op nowadays.
Note: If you are somehow unable to reach Stage 9, ask your friends/union members/discord Co-op recruitment to carry you.
Elemental weakness plays a big part in almost every Co-op, Land Eater is weak to Electric units, most notably Scarlet.
Boss Mechanics

Land Eater starts off the fight by firing 4 waves of bombs that can be destroyed easily, and then fires 2 waves of beam projectiles that cannot be destroyed and can only be i-framed or tanked.
Land Eater will enter Phase 2 upon reaching Stage 9 AND when it finishes using its current move (firing bombs or firing beam projectiles). For example, in the 2nd video below, even though damage dealt has reached Stage 9, Land Eater will continue firing a 2nd wave of beam projectile before finally entering Phase 2.
Note: The beam projectiles usually deal minimal damage before Stage 9 is reached (even though it destroys your cover entirely), but really hurts if the projectiles land on your unit after Stage 9 is reached. It is therefore recommended to deal huge chunk of damage to reach Stage 9 while Land Eater is firing 2nd or 3rd wave of bombs to skip the beam projectiles.
Upon entering Phase 2, Land Eater will have a QTE phase of 5 red circles. Coordination is recommended to break these circles swiftly, as the circles are quite tanky even for players with OL gears on their DPS carries.
Failing this QTE phase will cause Land Eater to create a shield and use Saturation Attack, which is just spamming projectiles onto the entire team. Units without at least T9 should be wiped out easily by this move. After Saturation Attack, Land Eater goes back to firing bombs that can be destroyed.
Succeeding this QTE phase will cancel Land Eater’s shield creation and only fire bombs that can be destroyed.
From here, Land Eater repeats moveset of :
- Creates shield if there is any cores alive and also respawn the other core. If both cores were broken during previous rotation, both cores are respawned and Land Eater moves to step 2.
- Enters QTE phase of 7 red circles. This QTE phase lasts for only 3 seconds, requiring team coordination to succeed easier. Failing this QTE means Land Eater uses Saturation Attack. Succeeding this QTE causes Land Eater to move to step 3.
- Land Eater fires bombs that can be destroyed again. Moves to step 1.
TLDR: Keep breaking cores, coordinate to break QTE in time and have support units to take care of bombs, especially if using Scarlet.
Team Comps
Note: There seems to be an issue where Liter’s burst is on CD even after 3rd full burst ends (typically the CDR from Liter should allow burst CD to rotate just in time).
Trying Dorothy in place of Liter might yield better results (I have not personally tested this yet).
Snow White Nuke (ATK rolls on Snow White)
![]() Liter | ![]() Novel | ![]() Snow White | ![]() Maxwell | ![]() Privaty |
![]() Dorothy | ![]() Scarlet |
Main carry is Snow White, the idea is to hold Snow White’s burst until the next burst rotation so that Snow White gets to release her burst at full charge while also benefiting from Liter and Novel bursts’ buffs.
Note: Using Privaty here should be better to maximize damage since it is easier to guarantee Snow White and Maxwell are the ones having Maxwell Skill 1 buff, compared to using Scarlet here as Scarlet will steal the buff away. However, if you have trouble breaking QTE, bringing Scarlet and a weaker Maxwell is recommended.
Scarlet Party (Max Ammo + Element damage)
![]() Liter | ![]() Novel | ![]() Scarlet | ![]() Scarlet | ![]() Scarlet |
![]() Dorothy | ![]() Privaty |
Main carries are Scarlets, though the Scarlets here not only need to have 3-4 Max Ammo+ rolls on OL gears, but also want as much element damage as possible. If you are unable to find a 3rd Scarlet that is as strong, bringing Privaty or Maxwell to buff the 2 Scarlets is recommended.
Note: Scarlets die easily to bombs, supports have to focus solely on bombs to allow Scarlets to DPS down Land Eater or deal with QTE.
Alice Team (Max Ammo + ATK rolls on Alice)
![]() Liter | ![]() Novel | ![]() Alice | ![]() Alice | ![]() Maxwell |
![]() Dorothy | ![]() Maxwell | ![]() Privaty |
Our cute rabbit Alice is making an appearance at Co-op again! Even though Land Eater’s cores are squishy and Alice will not be able to farm core damage as much, perhaps her single target damage is just so cracked that it doesn’t matter in the end?
As usual, if you can’t find a 2nd Alice that is strong enough, using the standard Maxwell and Privaty replacements is recommended.
Dorothy is bugged again this coop boss s the brand damage doesn’t increase as you shoot at the marker.
