Welcome back to our PvP Focus review series! Here, we hope to deliver PvP focused content and news for any new Nikkes released that may have proper PvP use. Keep in mind that a lot of common PvP terms/slang will be used in this guide, which can be clarified in this guide:
Let’s dive straight right into Trina’s abilities!
TLDR
Trina is not a hard unit to understand if you have been in and around PvP for a while. She has a ClipRL weapon, which in PvP means she has super high burst generation and can easily fit into any team to make it better. She is, however, the first ClipRL unit that provides offensive buffs! This means that, apart from Jackal, she is the best ClipRL unit to use!
What she excels in is her niche in buffing the damage of Electric AR units by an insane amount. In PvP, Scarlet and Moran are the biggest benefactors of this niche. Fast Scarlet teams are an absolute menace now, and meanwhile Moran stall teams, or Nero+Moran stall teams, just got faster and more reliable if they have Trina. An absolute must have for any PvP enjoyers. Burst Generation + Buffer is a very strong combo to have.
Step-by-step Analysis
Burst generation
Trina is a Clip RL unit. In PvP, this weapon type has been blessed by Shift Up to be automatically meta. Clip RLs have insanely high base burst generation. Trina happens to be quite loved by Shift Up, having the absolute highest base burst generation: 3.6%! This makes her quite a big deal for PvP. Overall, she has the 2nd highest Burst Generation, but she is technically the 4th best overall Burst Gen unit, behind HelmTreasure, Jackal and Emilia with 21% Charge Speed (an easy milestone to achieve because of Emilia’s Skill 1). Still, Trina has extremely high Burst Generation and this alone makes her a must pull unit.

Supporting Output and Comparisons
Trina has the ability to support units in 3 different ways. We will go from her weakest ability to her best, one by one.
Firstly, Trina can heal. But she can’t heal at the very beginning, and she can’t heal everyone. She can only heal 2 units and only if their HP goes below 50%. Units like Nero who want to get a part of Trina’s heal first need to go down below 50% HP. She does heal extra if their HP is below 30%, but that level of HP is dangerous enough already. Her post-burst healing is something that stall teams can take advantage of, but don’t expect it to make a difference 90% of the time.
Secondly, her Max HP buffs. At the start of the battle, she can increase the Max HP of Electric AR units without recovering HP. This calls for excellent synergy with Moran, who’s Skill 1 scales with this buff. To add to this, she also provides Invulnerability for 2 seconds to electric AR units, which can help the likes of Scarlet to survive long enough to nuke the enemy team in super fast teams in P1. Very rarely will she die if the team speed is 2RL, and the only real threats are Iron DPS units, which are not common in PvP. When Trina bursts, she further increases Max HP, but this time she does it for every unit. Units like Cinderella, xMaiden or 2B can take advantage of this small buff to improve their damage dealt.
Thirdly, and finally, her offensive buffs. When Trina bursts, she immediately provides 20% Attack Damage to all allies. She then proceeds to prove herself in her niche of buffing Electric ARs, as she buffs them by an insane amount of 94.15% Attack Damage! That is an unheard of buff for a single B2 unit, and paired with the Burst Gen, this is absolutely menacing for 2~2.5RL Scarlet teams! Heck, even Moran with all of these buffs will just start healing herself as her burst gives Moran a life-steal! Scarlet also enjoys a reload speed and 100% ammo buff, Trina is truly just a unit made for her. Keep in mind, the parts of Trina’s burst skill that buff Burst Skill Damage that Affect all Enemies are not present in PvP. They are PvE only buffs and require Raptures to be present.
For a short TLDR on comparisons: For burst gen comparisons, we have already talked about them in the Burst gen section. Her healing can be considered more niche than other proper RL healers like Rapunzel. Her Max HP buffs are towards the lower side as well. Finally, to compare her with other B2 buffers, she is the best buffer for Scarlet and Moran, but is only a mediocre buffer for other units.
Synergies and Weaknesses
There are two synergies that absolutely scream for Trina. Scarlet and Moran. We have discussed them above but we will talk about them briefly here as well.
Let’s talk about Scarlet first. Scarlet as a main B3 is a nuker unit. With Trina, she basically becomes a insane nuker and has the ability to kill any team unless Noah, Bay or Blanc save the enemy team. She needs no other buffer to ensure that she absolutely destroys the enemy team! Trina being a ClipRL assists with reaching faster speeds, so all you need to do is be faster than the enemy team to ensure an easy win! Speed is key for this team, otherwise might as well use Trina elsewhere.
The second synergy with Moran is, unlike the Scarlet-Trina duo, a more defensive minded one. Trina can assist Morana and Nero both, but Nero needs to drop below 50% HP so that she can get healed and get 1-2 stacks of Cat’s Repayment before she bursts. Moran can easily drop below 50% since her max HP is increased by Trina. This increases Moran’s defence stats and allows her to survive some serious damage dealt. If Trina bursts, Moran’s normal attack is boosted severely, and her lifesteal can now allow her to sustain heavy damage.
As for weaknesses, Trina has no absolute weakness she needs to be worried about. Just make sure that any Iron units in the opposing team (e.g. Laplace Treasure) are not able to kill her before she is able to burst.
Impact on current meta
Tier List Rating: SS – 9.45
Trina is a very solid addition to PvP. ClipRLs in the current burst generation economy are priceless, and a burst generation unit that buffs!? Absolutely a must-have must-pull unit for any PvP enjoyers out there. Trina is not expected to fall off anytime soon, but is instead expected to be used to high effect in all 3 PvP modes. Strong presence for ATK in Rookie, solid choice for faster DEF teams on SP Arena, and a 100% chance of being used in the upcoming Champions Arena! Although, Shift Up, if you are reading this, please give us more info on Champions Arena!!
Team Examples
All teams can be used for attack, and if the player has enough resources for other teams, also for defence. Positioning is very important, try to copy the positions as is.
2RL – Do or Die
Double buffed 2RL Scarlet. 2.5RL without Quantum Cubes. If the opponent thinks anything is saving him, he is wrong unfortunately. It is over for him if he is not able to block the AoE attack with Noah, Bay or Blanc.
Centi, Rumani Replacements:
- Anis
- Jackal
- Emilia
Red Hood may be replaced by any unit of your liking if CP for the team matters more for you. Scarlet is still strong with just Trina buffing her. Just make sure you have at least 1 B1 in your team.
3RL – Stall them like your life depends on it!
Also a strong stall team that intends to make use of Helm’s DPS to win. Moran’s damage is not buffed by Trina, but Nero is expected to receive one extra healing stack which she needs to get max stacks of her Cat’s Repayment to block every bit of damage in P1, unless it is AoE damage.
2.5RL – The Great Wall of Moran
A fast stall team that intends to try and ensure Moran’s survival. The plan with adding Mana is to win in the second Burst rotation somehow. This team is weak against AoE DPS, but can stand strong against non AoE teams, or other stall teams.
HelmT Replacement:
- Quiry (but the team will now be 3RL)
2RL – Cinderella Nuke
No Scarlet, No Moran? No problem. Just use another nuker who can simply decimate the enemy team. Trina’s high Burst Generation can allow for a 2RL nuke with Cinderella.
2RL – 2 Nukes
Just make sure Rosanna and Scarlet are linked to Jackal and this team is as good as it gets..
HelmT Replacement:
- Anis
Budget Meta Team Compositions
This section may involve teams that are not ideal, but are fit for incomplete rosters who cannot make all the various meta suggestions. All teams can be used for attack, and if the player has enough resources for other teams, also for defence. Positioning is very important, try to copy the positions as is.
Popular B3 choices are Emilia, Alice, SBS, A2
Supporter = Rapunzel, Noise
Note: Examples of ClipSG units are: Sugar, Noir, Drake, Viper, Pepper, B.Soda.

“Double buffed 2RL Scarlet. 2.5RL without Quantum Cubes. If the opponent thinks anything is saving him, he is wrong unfortunately. It is over for him if he is not able to block the AoE attack with Noah, Bay or Blanc.”
Well in reality its a bit more complicated. I always liked Scarlet so naturally i use Trina with her and tried few variations. 2RL comps like +centi/rh/rumani against some opponents sadly Scarlet dies before surviving to full burst (im talking about same or slightly lower CP than opponent). The 2 second immune and +%max hp is nice but not enough. Tbh im still not sure what variation is best possible for scarlet and trina, adding Rapunzel or Jackal (or both) gives enough survival for scarlet to survive to burst but also you want them in other comps.
Agree, the protection in Arena is valued more than attack.
My Tempering Cube is sitting at Level 4. Would it be better for PVP (including defense) for her to keep the Bastion cube (lvl 12) until I build up tempering? Or would it still be better to equip her with that? Currently using the “2RL – Do or Die” lineup with Jackal at the end.
Tempering if you care about pvp, bastion if you use her in pve content and dont wanna switch all the time, levels of cube dont matter that much.
Just had to say the edit with Scarlet on Trina’s lap is *chef’s kiss*
Why Scarlet, Trina, Centi, RH and Rumani? Why not Scarlet and Trina with 3 of the strongest burst generation Nikkes? Don’t you want to burst ASAP?
