Sora Guide & Analysis – Should You Pull?

Grounded before takeoff.

Newbie/Incomplete Box Section

Sora is a Burst I Wind Supporter unit with a massive heal and not much else. Her s1’s healing potency combined with her burst’s high base heal value combine to heal 70% of her max HP as healing combined with a dispel for all allies. This can be lifesaving depending on the situation, but such situations are rare outside of PvP. 

Unfortunately for her PvP prospects, Sora’s burst generation is like a standard rocket launcher’s. Other units with higher burst gen will have to make up for it if she is to see some use here.

Burst having a 40 second cooldown severely limits team comps, since it would require a second B1, that would have to be a mandatory cooldown unit as well.

Sora provides a stacking overheal buff and a non-stacking attack buff whenever a part is broken. It lasts a decent duration but it’s only happening upon parts breaking means it won’t really activate outside of bosses.

Skill 1: Boarding Procedure

■ Activates when entering battle. Affects self.
Potency of HP granted ▲35.2% continuously.

A sizable healing output buff that’s permanent means her burst heal will always heal more than what it advertises. When the two combine, her HP recovery is ~70% of her max HP as healing.

Skill 2: Secret Carry-On

■ Activates when self or an ally destroys an enemy’s part. Affects all allies.
Storage: Stores excess healing received by caster, up to 5.36% of their max HP. Stacks up to 5 time(s) for 15 sec.
ATK ▲23.74% of the caster’s ATK for 15 sec.

Whenever a boss’ part is broken, allies receive an okay attack buff and the ability to store any excess healing they receive as overheal. The attack buff doesn’t stack, unlike the overheal, unfortunately. 

The overheal buff is also not that big compared to other overheals like Marciana’s or Maid Anchor’s, which unconditionally grant a much bigger overheal buff without needing to stack anything.

Burst: Closely Carried Secret

■ Affects all allies.
Recovers 52.27% of the caster’s final max HP as HP.
Dispels 1 debuff(s).

Gives a massive heal and a basic dispel. Unlike other dispels in the game, Sora’s is tied to a 40 second cooldown, so she is much better off using her burst for the heal it provides, being one of the biggest instant heals in the game, especially when combined with her S1. 

Unfortunately for the heal as well, a 40 second cooldown also means that while it can save you once, it won’t necessarily be able to save you again when needed, compared to other heals that may not be as potent, but can be activated more often.


Campaign

Situations in the campaign where you may need a huge heal are uncommon. Enemies will rarely deal damage that can’t be managed by other heals, and when it comes to pushing at a deficit, offense is the best defense. Killing stuff before it can kill you is the best way to go, and Sora won’t be able to contribute to this in a meaningful way.


Arena

Possibly the one place Sora could see potential use, since the fast-paced nature of PvP amplifies her strengths more than her weaknesses. If combined with allies with better burst gen to make up for her standard RL burst gen, Sora’s huge heal can come through during a burst chain. 

Something to note is that because there are no parts to break in PvP, Sora’s skill 2 will never activate in PvP.


Special Interception | Union Raid | Solo Raid

A problem with Sora’s heal is that it’s on a 40 second cooldown. If up against a boss that’s dealing constant damage, Sora’s occasional heal may not be enough to keep up with the boss’ DPS. Other, more spammable heals can usually keep up with DPS bosses output in raids. 

Against something like Black Snake or Behemoth, perhaps her big, instant heal with dispel can see use, but other than that, Sora’s heal, despite its big value, doesn’t particularly stand out from other heals due to its cooldown.

There are no particular teams for Sora to fit in for PvE, as she is more about providing a big heal when necessary, and is incredibly situational.


Strengths

Weaknesses

  • Long, 40s cooldown on the heal and dispel.
  • A second B1 is necessary to fit her in a team.
  • Overheal value is weak and has to be stacked.
  • Attack buff and overheal only activates upon parts breaking.
  • Standard burst gen means other allies will have to make up for Sora’s burst gen in PvP.

Recommended Cubes

Healing Cube. It’s her one strongest point, it’s best to double down on it. Stacks additively with her S1 to make her burst heal even bigger.


Should you pull?

No. Definitely save and wishlist. Even if you care about PvP, she likely won’t see use outside of the champion arena where 25 units are needed. In standard special arena or rookie arena, there’s enough great PvP units to prioritize their use over Sora.
