Rem Best Builds, Teams, and How to Play

Best girl deserves our longest review (It was coincidental)

Skill 1: Leave it to Rem!

Activates after landing 15 normal attack(s) in Demon’s Breath status.
Affects self. ATK 4.22%, stacks up to 30 times(s) and lasts for I0 sec.
Activates when using Burst Skill. Affect all allies. Shares HP recovery for 10 sec.

First effect is a massive self ATK buff that can be maintained through out the fight and makes her DPS competitive with other meta units despite being a Supporter. Assuming your device can maintain stable 60 FPS, her ATK buff will reach full stacks in 7.5s after entering full burst (at 60 FPS), maxing out at a staggering 126.6%. Once the full burst ends, you’ll have a ~9.75s grace period to re-enter full burst and refresh the ATK buff stack, if we account for reload w/o Resilience cube, it will still be a 7.25s window which is easily achievable as long as you bring a Cooldown Reduction unit.

Her damage can even surpass Scarlet without any HP conditions as MG’s are able to hit Rapture cores with extreme ease while Scarlet rarely can, depending on how large their cores are. Core hits massively increase DPS (realistically around 40%~ when factoring other damage multipliers in the same bracket, E.G Full burst mode and Range Bonus).

Healing Effectiveness

Theoretically, her healing should split into 5 “Pieces” , 1/5th for each Nikke. However this is not the case. Rem takes “2” Pieces via skill 2, then it is split. Which means that Rem gets healed more than others, while the others get healed less. Rem will get 2/6th of the healing, and the other Nikkes will receive 1/6th.

Rem’s damage directly corelates to her healing. The more damage she does, the better her healing. If Rem is raised enough, she should be able to keep the team healthy consistently. As lifesteal is directly correlated to her damage, supports/low damage Nikkes get the healing love too, which is an issue with lifesteal healers such as Helm and Marciana.

This obviously comes at a downside of Rem needing to be raised to be a proper healer, while other healers don’t need much investment at all (Skill books, Overloaded gear, Dupes).

Rem on full overload gear can keep up with A2’s self drain, however will struggle with Scarlet’s self drain. This is because A2 gets more healing (Rocket launcher skill 2 synergy). This is assuming element neutral content.

On elemental advantage content, this can severely change depending on Elemental damage rolls from overload gear, for the better on Scarlet.


Skill 2: Rem the Healer

Activates when entering battle. Affects self.
Recovers 42.24% of attack damage as HP continuously.
Activates when entering battle. Affects self and 2 Rocket
Launcher-wielding ally unit(s) with the highest ATK.
Shares HP recovery continuously

As mentioned in skill 1, this life steal gets split to 6 “Pieces”, and is divided as such on full burst. her base life steal is 42.24 / 6 = 7.04% of Rem’s damage being converted into HP for each Nikke (14% for Rem). Outside full burst, Rem fully enjoys this life steal to herself unless paired with Rocket Launchers

Another interesting Gimmick is that, similarly to herself, each RL in the team (max 2) will also get extra life steal “pieces”. Besides sharing Life steal off burst, the RL Nikkes also get an extra piece of “Life Steal”, meaning that if there is 2 RL’s in the team. It would look like:

Rem: 2/8th Life steal
RL 1: 2/8th Life Steal
RL 2: 2/8th Life steal
Nikke 4: 1/8th Life Steal
Nikke 5: 1/8th Life steal

Her passive life steal on RL’s can be helpful when running teams without cooldown reduction. Otherwise, this just seems like a gimmick on where she’d be able to maintain A2’s life drain without her dropping out of her “Mode B” (Burst skill)

Shared Life Steal Via Other Buffs

An interesting interaction with Rem is, if other Nikkes with life steal buffs are paired with her (Biscuit, Helm Burst). Damage dealt that isn’t Rem will be also shared as life steal. This can make teams a lot more “tougher”. Although rather impractical.


Skill 3: No Mercy from Rem

Affects self.
Demon’s Breath: Critical Rate โ–ฒ 37.8% for 10 sec.
Affects all allies with a Rocket Launcher.
ATK โ–ฒ 50.78% of caster’s ATK for 10 sec.
Max Ammunition Capacity โ–ฒ 5 round(s) for 10 sec.

Critical Rate buffs are usually unwanted, however she gives enough to actually be a good DPS increase, especially if rolled with critical damage from Overload gear.

Second part of her burst provides an ATK buff and Max Ammo Capacity increase to Rocket Launcher units. The values are great but it’s a shame the effect is locked to RL units as not many units will benefit from this due to the lack of RL DPS. Emilia, A2, and Laplace will get more mileage than Scarlet: Black Shadow due to Scarlet: Black Shadow having an overwhelming ATK buff on her burst, while the others don’t have such innate ATK buffs, Rem’s Burst also provides what’s basically a free max ammo overload to them on burst as well.

Rem’s ATK buff is also based on her own ATK, as she’s a supporter (Lower base ATK), this is effectively a 42%~ ATK buff when comparing to equally raised Attacker Nikkes.

Critical damage is a rather “bad” buff because of the base crit rate (15%) is low, and there’s not much buffers that can buff critical rate in where it would matter more or even close to just a direct ATK buff.

Not to mention that the bracket of critical damage is very diluted. It shares the same bracket as Core hits (2.0x), Full burst Multiplier (1.5x), Range bonus (1.3x) and itself (1.5x).

a critical hit with all these multipliers will amount to 15% increased damage, and that’s if it CRITS, at 15% base. this is around 2.2%~ increase in total DPS when accounting for crit rate.

Her burst increases this to 7.7%~ total DPS increase, and can be improved further with critical damage rolls, but pure ATK rolls are still preferred.


Campaign

A solid B2 DPS and healer hybrid unit, having 20s cooldown allows her to fit in almost any team comp. However it’s high recommended to pair her with a B1 unit with Cooldown Reduction (Liter/Volume/Dorothy/D: Killer Wife) to ensure more burst uptime and less chances of dropping her ATK buff.

There’s also the obvious RL synergy so you can run her with relevant RL attackers such as Emilia, A2, Scarlet:Black Shadow, Power, And Laplace.

Screen Wipe Squad

  • A2 / Emilia can be replaced with any of your preferred RL

Flex Slot is recommended to be a strong Single target damager (Red hood, Alice, Etc) to be able to take care of the target Rapture with more ease, as RL’s usually don’t do a great job at Single target damage. This team should be able to handle high stress situations in High CP deficits, perhaps better than its Bunny team Variant. This is due to having a High ATK buffs (Which lasts between rapture waves). And an extra slot that isn’t locked behind a pair (Noir), Allowing for one whole extra DPS slot or utility slot.

  • in most High CP deficit stages/meta, waiting for Cooldown in final wave is needed for full burst. This will more often than not drop her s1 stacks (her 120% ATK buff). Reducing her Personal damage greatly, however rem RL’s buffs especially when used with Emilia and A2 + flex slot should be breezing at 20-30% CP deficits. Unfortunately, she is not universal and the RLs that can use her are both literally limited Nikkes. SBS can be used to an extent, but her ATK is already extremely bloated from her own burst.

Editor Note: Will be trying to implement a system in the tier list that clarify specific Nikkes that perform very well in Low-Mid Cp deficits (10-25%) via note/tag , but fall off pretty hard in higher Deficits. Nikkes in questions are:

  • Scarlet Black Shadow
  • Emilia
  • A2
  • Rem (RL buffs)

This is due to Raptures needing an extra hit or two, instead of being destroyed in a hit or so. needing an extra hit or two is usually the make or break in runs.


Arena

Rem for Arena is not a real consideration due to the same problems that plague every MG not named Rosanna: They feed Jackal like crazy, kill themselves against Scarlet, they have the lowest burst gen in the game and PvP is forced 30 fps so their damage is lowered by immensely compared to PvE, which can run up to 60 fps. She’s not good at all in PvP, don’t bother running her.


Special Interception | Union Raid | Solo Raid

Solo Raid | Union Raid

Due to weighted distribution (overlap) in her healing mechanic, Rem’s main attraction now is her self ATK buff. Solo Raid bosses have attacks that always target highest ATK character in your team which in most cases will be your B3 Attacker but Rem’s ATK value is so inflated that she can “taunt” the attacks.

This can be very useful as Rem has constant lifesteal to keep herself topped up while alleviating stress from your attacker units. Do note that attacker’s with massive self ATK buff (Scarlet, 2B) will still take aggro over Rem. That said, her healing is still sufficient and beneficial. While she didn’t blow Marciana out of the water like we first speculated, Rem’s healing is still competitive with Marciana (Depending on DPS’s). We now have another solo B2 healer to provide sustain for more solo raid comps.

Having RL synergy doesn’t mean Rem is forced into pairs with those units, the value offered isn’t much because there aren’t many units who can leverage the buffs. Emilia is the best candidate because the buffs fit perfectly with her kit, then we have A2 who benefits from ATK buff and Rem’s healing and finally Scarlet: Black Shadow who doesn’t benefit as much from ATK buff compared to Charge Speed buffs.

Team Comps

The campaign comp is also usable here as it has healing and DPS, however would want to hog Volume instead

Dorothy Variant [Safe]

Dorothy,Rem,Biscuit,Anis: Sparkling Summer,Privaty

An “off” looking team, but Biscuit is able to deal a surprising amount of DPS (If Overloaded) in this team if the boss has parts. This is due to the instant reload via +100% reload speed from Anis: Sparkling summer and Privaty. Rem is able to boost this damage further while also dealing great personal damage. There will be no issue of survivability either as this team is fully sustainable via Rem life steal and Biscuit Burst.

Dorothy Variant [Elemental Advantage]

Dorothy,Rem,Anis: Sparkling Summer,Scarlet,Privaty

A more “risky” approach, and should mostly be used if rem has elemental advantage, and a few lines of elemental damage rolls. This is due to Rem not being able to fully sustain Scarlet’s HP drain under normal circumstances, however if Rem has elemental damage and rolls, Rem should be able to sustain Scarlet under careful play.

Special Intercept

While healing is only mandatory on Blacksmith and Chatterbox to a certain extent, Rem will no doubt perform well on these bosses thanks to her elemental advantage, especially on Blacksmith whose core is open.


Strengths

  • One of the best Solo Burst II healers that is capable of doing High damage and buffing. Usually this amount of utility in a Nikke is locked behind a pair (JK/Bunnies)
  • Huge ATK buffs for future RL’s to come (Future proofing)
  • Allows a rather competitive team in campaign if the Commander has Meta RL’s, even without using RL’s, Rem is able to do rather well standalone
  • Can “Boost” healing of other life steal Nikkes due to her s1 skill if wanting to run very comfy teams (E.G, Paired with Helm or Biscuit)
  • Able to fully sustain herself in Solo raid with high investment, and act as a (bait) due to highest ATK targeting (Scarlet + 2B will still get aggro’d more)
  • Will not forget you

Weaknesses

  • Needs High investment (Overloaded Gear, Skill investments, etc) To be able to heal well. Even at high investments, Rem is unable to heal Scarlet fully on neutral element stages/fights
  • Her DPS isn’t enough to sustain any meaningful teams in Arena
  • Her slightly Odd healing/sharing mechanic can gimp healing towards certain characters, which can provide unwanted interactions. Example of why Rem doesn’t heal Scarlet enough, this would only get worse for her the more RL’s there are in the team
  • You might forget her

Should You Pull?

Definitely. Her DPS and utility as a Solo B2 is great, quite possibly the top solo Burst II Nikke that isn’t locked behind a pairing system (Bunny/Duos). Although Her DPS can be power crept in the future, she still provides great healing and a very nice buff for RL Nikkes, which can only increase her value | remain relevant as the Nikke roster grows

1 copy is recommended (f2p), and more if wanted for increased healing/DPS(Dolphin), which her kit greatly appreciates.

  1. Torn between Emilia and Rem rn because I can only get one and have been unlucky with pulls. I have most meta characters for campaign, bossing, and pvp (even moran as tank). Don’t have A2 and only SBS as my best RL, should I still get Rem or go for Emilia?

    • Emilia has a possibility of being power crept + Limited to bosses with multiple parts, however Emilia is pretty good in campaign.

      Rem Has similar damage to Scarlet + Buffs/healing that is harder to make her irrelevant. I can See Emilia being replaced soon, but Rem should stick around for awhile.

  2. Guess we have another S.Anis situation, a buffer that can somehow deal insane damage. I’m having second thoughts about her and Emilia, since I’m a pretty casual player and only ever use RH and Modernia pretty much everywhere, and my A2 and SBS are most of the benched too

  3. That biscuit team looks super funny. Any specific overloads for biscuit to make it good? Also with this team what’s the burst rotation? Rem -> Biscuit then alternate? Or the opposite of Biscuit -> Rem alternate?

  4. Is Rem viable when paired with Privaty without Anis: Sparkling Summer, Does the ATK + reload speed make up for the loss of ammo?
