Naga Bond Story Summary

Episode 1:
While in class, Tia suddenly sees Naga and hurriedly hugs her. Naga, while surprised, reminds Tia to not do it every time they meet as well as to be careful towards Teacher (a.k.a, the Commander). After a while, Naga checks Tia if she’s dressed properly. Naga observes that she put her ribbon but forgets to wear stockings. Luckily, Naga has an extra pair for her to wear. A moment later, Naga asks Tia if she did her homework. Tia assures Naga that she did do her homework but Naga still wants to see if she really did her homework. As Naga checks her homework, she sees that Tia only answered 5 out of 15 questions, to which Tia gets confused as she thought that she did them all. Luckily, they still have time to finish it and Naga helps Tia to do so. Moments pass by, and class is about to start. This time, Naga reminds Tia about “good posture”. Despite that, however, Tia just slumps herself on the chair and Naga sighs upon the situation. When class is over, Naga approaches Tia to remind her again about having good posture when sitting. However, Tia insists that sitting lazily is more comfortable than sitting up straight. This interaction continues up until classes are over. Before going home, Naga reminds Tia again to change her shoes when she gets home. Tia thanks Naga about the reminder as she’s thinking about eating desserts instead.
Naga accompanies Tia to buy sweets, which Tia appreciates as Naga reminds her that she’ll accompany her tomorrow to buy accessories. As they’re about to leave, Tia suddenly sees the Commander and impulsively hugs her. The Commander is surprised about the sudden physical contact. Naga tells Tia once again to not do it towards the Commander and apologizes for Tia’s behavior. Naga tells Tia to apologize to the Commander as well. Tia complies and comments that she just like the Commander so much that she can’t help but do it. After the short conversation, Tia and Naga continues to go on their way home. While doing so, Tia expects that Naga will say that today is as good as yesterday and hopes that tomorrow will be the same. Naga agrees to what Tia just said.

Episode 2:
As soon as Marciana ends the class, Tia rushes towards Naga and hugs her immediately. Naga reminds her that she’ll accompany her today to the accessory shop. However, Before Marciana leaves, she reminds the students to prepare for the “test” next week. After a moment of silence, the two leaves the class. While the two are outside, Tia keeps on calling Naga who’s being unresponsive for a while. Tia knows that Naga will not go to the accessory shop today because she feels down whenever exams are coming. Naga didn’t deny it and compliments Tia for knowing that fact. Be that as it may, Naga assures Tia that she can enjoy her free time instead since she won’t have any problems with the test. However, before anything, Tia visits the Commander with Naga. Tia impulsively hugs the Commander once again. However, Naga doesn’t make any responses towards Tia’s careless actions, which both the Commander and Tia observes. With that in mind, Tia tells the Commander to help Naga to put her mind at ease and leaves the scene. As Naga is trying to leave as well, the Commander sees her shoes on the wrong feet, which the Commander is sure that something is bothering Naga. After struggling to put her shoes on correctly, Naga tells everything to the Commander and insists that he should take responsibility.
Episode 3:
The Commander and Naga decides to chat in the Commander’s room. To start with, Naga tells everything about her problem as a student in M.M.R Vocational School. According to Naga, they must maintain a certain grade level in order to stay in the school. Otherwise, they could be expelled. One of the factors that could affect their grades is by taking the tests. The Commander asks what these tests were like, which Naga tells the Commander about what happened few years back.
Back when Naga was still a freshman, she’s still bright, energetic, and aspires to become a teacher. At first, everything seems like a normal school life. Only difference is that Naga used to have supplemental training aside from attending classes like other students. They also made friends and created memories with them too. She’s also not that close to Tia back then. One day, Marciana announced that they’ll be having their first test and that they must prepare for it. Naga had no idea what test are they gonna take until the day of the exam came. While “taking the exam”, Naga finally realized how horrifying their “exams” was.

Episode 4:
The classroom that was once filled with cheerful students, now filled with empty desks and traumatized Nikkes. Some are laughing. Some are weeping. Others just staring into space. Out of 42 students in their class, only 18 managed to live. Naga complained about the exam. She exclaimed that they’re still freshmen and was immediately being sent to the surface to fight raptures. As she tries to recall the things that happened during the exam, her body trembles and her teeth rattle in fear. She also thinks that she sacrificed the lives of her friends in order for her to survive. Eventually, as years went by, she made new friends. However, the moment she knew about the “exam”, she dedicated herself to training along with her friends that share the same goal. While training, Naga’s new friends remind her about Tia having the highest score in the test. However, the moment she heard the word “test”, she suddenly recalls about her trauma.
As Naga is trying to focus for the exams, Tia suddenly approaches Naga and greets her. Tia asks why she’s going home late, to which Naga replies that she was training and asks the same question towards Tia. Tia just replies that she fell asleep. Naga, feeling uncomfortable, asks Tia if everyone in her group passed the test back when they were freshmen. Tia ponders about it until she cheerfully replies that she was the only one who passed. Naga tries to confirm Tia’s answer, and Tia replies the same thing. According to Tia, she was the only who survived in her group during that exam. However, she thinks that she might be wrong about it since that exam happened back when they were freshmen. Tia’s reply somehow gets on Naga’s nerves and asks if those classmates of hers were also her friends. However, Tia doesn’t know if they really were since she tends to be forgetful. Naga, now frustrated, tells Tia that her friends were dead. Yet, she’s still smiling as if she’s enjoying life and nothing happened. Tia suddenly gets confused and asks why is she suddenly mad. Naga disregards her statement and just tells Tia that she will pass this year’s test along with her friends. Before leaving, Tia casually tells her that she will also do her best in order to pass the test. For some reason, Tia’s statement somehow puts Naga’s mind at ease.
One day, Marciana announces that their exam is coming and that they have to prepare again for this year’s test. She also mentions that the exam consists of “real-life exercises” and wishes the students good luck. This year however, the students that were once filled with excitement and anticipation, now were filled with anxiety and silence in the classroom. On the day of the exam, Tia and Naga were in the same group along with two other students. At first, the four have good teamwork and performing great. However, as Marciana announces the result of the exam, it turns out that only Tia and Naga passed despite the fact that all four of them in the group survived. Naga, shocked by the results, asks Marciana why it came out like so. Marciana explains that only those with superior combat skills must progress, not by simply making it alive through the test. Now, the dream that Naga once wanted to become a teacher, now vanished the moment she gave up about it.

Episode 5:
Now that they’re back on their classroom, Tia reminds Naga that it’s time to go home. However, Naga insists Tia to go first since she’ll stay for a while. However, Tia decides to stay as Naga speaks about what’s on her mind, that she failed to protect her friends again. Tia, however, tries to comfort Naga, saying that they’re not dead. To Tia, they just didn’t pass the exam and that’s about it. She also comments that Naga is not a coward since she did her best to pass the exam. After all, Tia thanks Naga’s ability that she was able to pass the exam as well. She also thinks that Naga is an amazing person since she’s always doing her best to help her friends. However, Naga sees herself as being pathetic and that all she ever wanted was to have a normal school life. After hearing this, Tia hugs Naga and tells her that she can totally have a normal school life while doing whatever she likes. While Naga is confused about the statement, Tia explains that they can meet again tomorrow, and tests will be harder for them in the future. However, Tia assures that she’ll always be by her side. Tia also wants to be best friends with Naga as well. After all the things that Tia just said, Naga is suddenly filled with warmth and hope. Together, they were able to pass any tests that were thrown upon them.
Back to the present, the Commander asks Naga about what’s on her mind, to which Naga replies that she just remembered something and continues to explain about how their tests were done. Naga tells the Commander that she feels nervous whenever exams are coming up, and that the feeling of not being able to escape it. To Naga, it feels like being a small fish that swims in a big tank. The Commander reassures Naga that she’ll be able to pass the obstacles (and that the Commander will help her through it). After expressing her anxiousness to the Commander, Naga feels much better now after talking with the Commander and thanks the Commander for giving her time despite the Commander’s busy schedule. Before leaving, Naga closes her distance to the Commander and hugs the Commander, saying that things aren’t so bad as long as she got the Commander and Tia. And, she hopes that every day can be like this. The Commander, in return, hugs Naga back to the best of his abilities.
