Major Tier List Update (August)

First and fore-most, Tier list Link!

Intro

This article aims to highlight the changes of the unit rating that were changed in this tier list update! A lot of unit ratings were a bit nerfed/changed slightly due to how far the advantages of the higher placing units gave to each perspective game mode and changes in the meta due to unit releases, but some unit ratings were buffed too!

Note: Despite low burst generation, ATK buff is still used in nuke teams

Noir

Story = 8.5 -> 9.5

Note: Very strong in high CP deficits despite the lack of burst generation. Staple campaign team when paired with Blanc. Initial Ratings underestimated late game campaign worth

Blanc

Story 8.5 -> 9.5
PvP 8.0 > 8.2

Note: Paired with Noir, underestimated late game worth. Indom effect from burst proves to be more useful than thought due to recently released units if used properly in arena.

Privaty

Note: Stun not as powerful/ effective as back then, however still viable

Note: Healing isn’t very strong in high level campaign clearing, however she is still able to rack a lot of burst gen while having a resurrection skill.

Note: Slight bump to score as she’s the only viable nuke unit/substitute for scarlet teams if she is not available.

Note: SG team meta in PvP slightly fell off, especially since people know about it. Nerfed Whole SG team comp a tad bit. Healing not very needed in Story, and offers little burst gen as a SG unit (Because most pellets miss), still usable there though as a 20s CD unit

Story 9 > 9.1

Note: This is referring to a FULLY invested (skills at 10/4/10, overloaded gear) Alice. She holds a staple team in PvP, and still used in Alice + Maxwell story comps late game. If your Alice is not invested, assume ratings are much lower.

Note: Grossly Overestimated her burst generation in PvP, burst does not damage enough to warrant such a previous high placement as well.

Emma

PvP 8.25 -> 7.0

Note: Emma tech dwindled away and not as viable as before as they are now better stall units available, and newer DPS units can wipe out teams despite her passive proc’ing as well. Still usable though.

Boss 6.5 -> 8.1

Note: Despite her burst being pretty strong in PvP, she offers too little burst generation with a very short taunt time. She has shown her usefulness time and time again in solo raid and bosses as a burst 2 tank, bumped her score a tad bit.

Story 7.75 -> 6.5

Note: Simply much better units took her spots. Weak burst generation in pvp due to being a mag reload, a lot of offensive burst 2 units have been released that boost overall team damage more than she can output her self, and being a SG in campaign mode is simply bad.

Note: Treated Mast a bit too harshly on release, she also got a staple team in SR when Anis: Sparkling Summer was released too. Bumped up ratings by quite a bit. Crit rate bonus at start of battle can be a rather big damage boost in PvP.

Note: Still a solid all arounder unit, but as more and more units that fill specific teams get released, the jack of all trade supporter kit slightly falls off in value.

Note: Unfortunate launch, coming right before Dorothy. However her kit is still useful when the stars align for her.

Note: Due to more burst 2 releases, her kit when specifically used against bosses loses its value. Her shields are still extremely useful against bosses like Mace, Blacksmith and etc though.

Nero

Note: Her sandbagging kit is not as useful as initially thought. Her kit requires a lot to work to even have Nero properly tank, Building a team to properly utilize her kit results in heavy team DPS loss.

Note: Her debuff cleanse has not seen ANY notable usage after her launch, despite her banner being months prior from now. Her cover repair is also outclassed by Biscuits’.

Note: As more units that can take advantage of crit damage/chance more, her value goes up. She now has a strong staple team in Solo Raid as well. Story is bumped up a good bit just because of simply being CDR unit.

Note: She was not rated by me/ was not tested properly. She works as a offensive Centi and gives pretty good burst gen. However it can sometimes be unreliable and unable to be spammed manually due to how her kit works. She also competes with a SR unit burst generator as well, Anis ✨

Note: Slightly stronger due to synergy with Anis Sparkling Summer.

Sin

Note: No notable boss usages. Other tanks outclass her by quite a bit.

Note: More burst 3 units has been launched that simply outclass her, using her burst is a team DPS gimp unless in a niche/specific teams. deals too little DPS to be having her as a sub-DPS as well.

Note: See’s usage in Snow white teams in Solo Raid. Snow white teams have slightly fallen off in campaign clearing, which Anne has a role in.

Note: Part of Alice + Maxwell campaign clearing team, which is one of the staple teams. Gave a slight boost to up her tier for story. ASSUME high skill investments and overloaded gear, otherwise her rank is much lower.

Note: Good unit for early campaign due to high burst gen and burst effect despite being 40s CD, but falls off when overloaded gear is obtained.

Helm Aquamarine

Story 6.0 -> 7.5

Note: Despite having no real offensive/supportive capabilities in campaign, she is still a CDR unit and can be used if no other CDR units are available.

Anis

Anis

Story 4 -> 7

Note: High burst generation, despite having low base stats, burst generation is simply too important in campaign, and SR anis does a very good job at providing that.


Ending Thoughts

As new units get released, so does the meta! hopefully this update more accurately reflects current meta. Do take tier lists with a grain of salt, as there will always be scenarios where a rather lower tier unit can perform better than a higher tier unit all depending on scenarios and content. Do understand and experiment with Nikke skill kits.

  1. Heavily Disagree with Sin’s lower rating. She saw use good use in the train Solo Raid because of her taunt. She fits perfectly as a tank in the Dorothy+S.Anis+Scarlet+Privaty composition, which is very strong dps wise but struggles with survivability unlike blanc+noir teams. Perfect for bosses that with ST attacks that snipe scarlet more often than not.

  2. Im so happy about Mast’s new rating, I have been using her and I knew she was great, like a kinda faster Novel with crit focus

  3. Volume should be higher tier than Pepper. Pepper needs an additional cd reduction support. Smooth burst rotations can make huge difference.
    I also don’t like Blanc’s rating. A solo Centi or Rupee > Blanc all day. Blanc is Noir gated to be at that high tier. In tier lists you rate characters individually not as a duo. I’d put Blanc on A tier with Anne.

  4. Alice should be slightly higher for story in my opinion. She’s essential in Blanc/Noir teams as she becomes the main source of burst gen, without her your burst gen is quite low

  5. I feel like there should be a scale of when a character is “paired with X char” and another individual one. Can be a bit misleading just slapping high numbers on Blanc and Noir when you have to use’em together. It’s a weak example cuz it’s kinda obvious, but it applies to other units too. Don’t need to do that to all units of course, cuz some like Rupie just kinda work and don’t need synergy
