Ludmilla: Winter Owner Early Thoughts

Your Friendly Neighborhood Booty Finder

Winter isn’t the only thing she’ll own. Also, Butterflies!

Note: This was made before the release of Ludmilla: Winter Owner. A more detailed analysis and guide will be published once testing has been done after her release. Character information is subject to change.

Basic Information

  • Skill 1: The Queen’s Gaze
  • Skill 2: Snowstorm
  • Burst: Guiding Lantern
  • Cooldown: 40s
  • Rarity: SSR
  • Burst: III
  • Weapon: MG
  • Class: Attacker
  • Element: Water
  • Manufacturer: Tetra
  • Squad: Unlimited
  • Weapon Name: Savior in the Snow

Note: Assume all skills are level 10.

Skill 1: The Queen’s Gaze

Activates when landing 60 normal attack(s). Affects the target.
Damage Taken ▲ 12.56% for 3 sec
Deal 158.43% of final ATK as additional damage.
Activates when landing 60 normal attack(s). Affects self.
Reloads 20 round(s) of ammunition.

Amazing skill. Basically permanent uptime on damage taken debuff, while also inflicting a decent chunk of damage every 60 shots. This procs every second as MG’s fire at a rate of 60 bullets pet second, assuming device FPS is constantly at 60.

her self reload would pair very effectively with the bastion cube, allowing her ammo to refill itself for sustained amounts of time, especially when overload max ammo rolls are factored in.

Skill 2: Snowstorm

Activates when hitting the Core for 60 time(s). Affects the target.
Deal 109.64% of final ATK as additional damage.
Activates at the beginning of Full Burst. Affects self.
Critical Rate ▲ 14.6% for 10 sec

Not as potent as her skill 1, but more personal damage is always welcome. Similarly to skill 1, deals a decent chunk of damage when requirement is fulfilled. Core hits are very easy to hit with MG’s are they have pinpoint accuracy (even more so than snipers), and most bosses have some sort of exposed core, so this doesn’t sound as situational as one may think to be. A simple trick to “track” cores is to simply turn on aim assist in the settings and AI will track the core for you assuming the crosshair is not that far off.

Critical rate is unfortunately not a great stat in the game due to the damage formula (Major Modifier), but is still nice to have. this incentivizes some more critical damage rolls/teams.

Burst: Guiding Lantern

Affects self.
ATK ▲ 62.54% for 10 sec.
Reloading Speed ▲ 67.2% for 20 sec.

Great burst, MG’s LOVE ATK boosts, also gives reload speed but is slightly redundant because of her skill 1 giving massive ammo refill. Still a nice addition to have. Around 1/3rd uptime~ on her attack boost and 2/3rd uptime on reload speed. Using resilience cube will bump her reload speeds to almost instant, so it is recommended to always reload before the buff expires. Rather straight forward skill.

Extra Information

To put her damage into a clearer perspective. She does a lot of damage. Her normal attack values are slightly higher than normal (5.86%), while also having a constant amount of high damaging additional damage procs every second.

assuming everything is at skill 10, her normal attack damage would be of 10%~ per shot.
however her additional procs can’t core hit, so almost half her damage is missing a pretty major multiplier.

As mentioned her damage calculation section, she effectively deals 10%~ normal attack damage per shot when accounting for her additional procs. This is nearly as much damage as Modernia, which clocks in at 10.76% per normal hit if skill level 1 is max’d.

Modernia does have a rather permanent ATK up and Crit damage as well, however Ludmilla has much less downtime which leads to much more flexible overload gear rolls since max ammo rolls are no longer mandatory. This is also less punishing for early game players.

Can go either both ways, but I’m leaning towards Resilience early-game / No max ammo rolls. For late-game with max ammo rolls or bunny team usage, bastion is preferred as reloading may never even be required in the first place.

Campaign

Not too sure how well she’d do in campaign as her kit is devoid of any AoE abilities, but she can definitely be an amazing boss/elite killer in water weak stages. she’d be able to substitute any DPS due to her self contained kit (makes her flexible). taking advantage of elemental weaknesses have shown to be extremely powerful, pair that with an also powerful Nikke. Most mobs should be shredded rather quickly during her burst, and maybe even off-burst. Besides listing the more obvious teams (Tia Naga support team, and Bunny team) There may be one future team that might be fruitful in water weak stages. This involves Mary Bay goddess, but there’s still not enough decent water DPS’s to take full advantage of her kit / not worth making a team around it just yet.

Arena

Unfortunately, it does not look like she’s offer anything new or relevant in the PvP scene. No decent burst generation abilities, Ludmilla can easily be countered by “wall” type comps (Biscuit, blanc Indom) nor have AoE burst capabilities. She kinda serves as a Modernia substitute in PvP teams, which even then, was never really meta in the first place.

Special Interception | Union Raid | Solo Raid

XLud kit is rather “self-contained”, most of the effects are complimentary to her DPS ability. On top of this XLud also offers Damage Taken debuff which turns her into a capable hybrid DPS unit. XLud will require minimal support to function optimally so she can fit into any team easily as a flex unit. She can also be used as a hyper carry, here are some comps to enhance her DPS

Liter,Blanc,Noir,Attacker

This comp minimizes the time XLud has to reload as much as possible thanks to Noir’s S2 partially reloading her gun every burst and Liter’s S1 increasing her ammo cap combined together with XLud’s self ammo refund from S1. With enough extra ammo from OL gear, it will be possible to reload only once during a boss fight.

Liter,Tia,Naga,Attacker

MG and Snipers are the only weapons able to leverage the increased core hit multiplier from Tia and Naga teams thanks to their high hit rate. XLud is the only MG unit viable with Tiga as we can burst with her (unlike Modernia) and she is fine with be healed (unlike Guillotine). You can use Red Hood/Alice in the flex as they are snipers unit with high, consistent damage output during burst.

On a side note for Special Intercept, 2 of the 5 bosses in the current rotation are water weak (Chatterbox, Blacksmith). XLud can help players are who are struggling to kill these bosses in time. XLud will also make GD alot less stressful because she doesnt have to reload as often, players wont need to worry about running out of ammo while destroying QTE circles

Closing Thoughts

A pretty great MG Nikke for bossing. Dealing similar damage values when against Modernia (Ludmilla dealing a bit less), and dealing more damage when compared against Scarlet against bosses with exposed cores while also providing some team utility. However her desirability is a bit lower in other game modes as it does not look like she’d do great in campaign (This needs testing) and PvP.

Definitely worth pulling as she’s pretty much a easier to pull Modernia / She’s the ONLY good water Nikke that can deal damage with the caveat of being rather skill investment heavy. Not pulling her would put the player in a disadvantage in water weak solo and union raids if they care about those modes.

  1. Hi, I’m accessing from Japan.
I was a little curious about this event, but does anyone know about the combination of hot springs and cold milk?
    Is it known worldwide?

    • it’s known to the anime/manga community since its a common trope but if you ask a random person on the streets of say new york they most likely wont get the connection

      • After all, it is well known in the anime and manga community!

About 60 years ago in Japan, refrigerators and bathtubs were not common in ordinary households.
At that time, public bathhouses were often equipped with the latest refrigerators, so a milk sales company came up with the idea of selling cold milk.
So, even after refrigerators and bathtubs became common in households, we Japanese still have the habit of drinking milk after taking a bath.
Especially when we take a bath outside of home, such as a public bath or hot spring, we find myself craving milk.
By the way, milk is not suitable for rehydrating after a bath.

  2. If your MG members have already grown and you are not thinking about raiding, I think you can skip it.
Another option that could be used is Tetra Tower.
Since growth items are limited in this game, it is efficient to concentrate resources on specific members.
    I only received one.

    > because it’s to early to decide she good or not
    that’s right!
