The popular mobile game NIKKE is set to release in China on May 22, 2025 under the new title Goddess of Victory: New Hope.
The game’s developer Shift Up and publisher Migu worked with Chinese regulation authorities for 10 months to get approval for its release in the country. The resulting Chinese version of the game features modified character designs with less revealing outfits, similar to changes made in other games like Azur Lane and Fate/Grand Order for the Chinese audience.
Players can pre-register at the official website to earn rewards unlocked at specific reservation milestones. At time of writing, more than 7.5 million have already signed up, nearly reaching the final 8 million reservation milestone that will unlock the SSR character Diesel for all pre-registrants.
Joining the game’s official community channels will also unlock rewards for players and is recommended to stay up to date with the latest announcements.

ngl i dont fully hate these, if they pull a genshin and give these to everyone as a free costume for preference. a lot of them look kinda better. idk i was never for the super skimpy skirt with kneesocks, with a few exceptions

are they gonna keep up with current events or will they be like some other games where they’re a few years behind?
you do realise there’s quite a lot of us playing it right now right? just check how many players profile page has chinese as language. i’m pretty sure event wise it’s not gonna bridge a 2.5 year gap on launch, might catch up one day but that special version probably won’t survive that long.
as a side note, this has become quite a joke among chinese nikke communities, as it does not provide anything more than what the international game already has, and is very lacking in certain areas.

why would the CN version provide “more than what the international game already has”? it’s to align with local regulations
Some of these I don’t hate, but others are anywhere from uncanny to ridiculous to strict downgrades. Look at what they did to Mihara!

The Mihara and Emma boob censor looks terrible!
Not to mention they most likely will have to censor the S/M theme for her and Yuni, so their whole character won’t even make sense, their relation and their enjoyment of pain is a really important part of them as characters, censoring that is literal character assassination…

Some desings looks better, other looks worse.
Rapi and Neon’s skirt fix i would say looks a lot better but what they did to Mihara and Emma looks cursed because they just gave a boob job rather than re-desing their whole body figure and now they just look dispropotioned.

I support these changes 100%. The boobs of the two look weird but better that than the hyper sexual character designs they’ve been coming out with. The story is, or rather was too good (last few chapters were head scratchers) to be looking like a nutaku game.
Put the lewd designs and stuff into blabla messages from them.
Raptures must of wiped out morals and decency if public, popular cheerleads can looks like Bay and Clay.
