E.H. Analysis – Should You Pull?

All this scrap for a hunk of junk.

Overview

  • B3 Wind Attacker SMG with a powerful burst that is held back by her skills.
  • Skills are honestly so underwhelming, even in situations she works well in, they hinder her DPS more than they have any right to.
  • While her weapon transform on Burst is good, the limited ammo originating from S1 is an incredible detriment.
  • Not the worst Wind DPS that’s permanently available, but far from the best as well. Not really worth raising for now.

Should You Pull?

Outside of waifu purposes, the answer is a definitive no. She is just too weak overall to excel in most situations. Even against bosses where she can easily gather scrap, she needs to get too much for too little benefit, and her self buffs are incredibly poor. Unlike other Attackers that have little to no self-buffs as well, E.H’s weapon is just too mediocre to try to make work.

She is severely hampered by how her skills interact with one another. The self-ATK buff from S1 is just too little gains for how much scrap you need to earn per stack, and the fact that each stack limits your ammo on your actually good weapon transform is just ridiculous. S2 giving a middling Elemental Damage buff for a limited duration is also quite uncalled for; if a boss with parts stops generating them, there goes some of her damage.

Due to how little S1 stacks she can get, there’s actually barely a difference between her performance vs bosses with no parts vs bosses with parts, but her damage is so mediocre anyway, that it’s just not worth trying to make work for now. Perhaps in the future, they’ll give her an allied unit or favorite item to stop her incredibly self-limiting S1.

Newbie/Incomplete Box Section

E.H. is a B3 Wind Attacker SMG that has a weapon transform on Burst. While her weapon transform and base weapon are actually pretty good, they are both unfortunately held back by how her skills 1 and 2 work. Skill 1 gives her stacks based on how much Scrap she can earn with S2, but being limited to only 4 stacks, with each S1 stack only giving +1 ammo to your Burst and 7.5% ATK, it’s just too little.

In scenarios where she ‘works best’, vs bosses with parts/lots of enemy summons, or in normal stages, there simply exist units that can fight these enemies better. The problem with E.H. is that even though she is ‘rewarded’ for fighting bosses with parts or summons, the reward is just so meager for what you have to do to earn it, that it’s just not worth trying to make work for now.

Basic Information

  • Skill 1: Homemade Magazine
  • Skill 2: Scrap Hunt
  • Burst: Heavenbound
  • Cooldown: 40s
  • Rarity: SSR
  • Burst: III
  • Weapon: SMG
  • Class: Attacker
  • Element: Wind
  • Manufacturer: Elysion
  • Squad: Exotic
  • Weapon Name: Heavenward

Skill 1: Homemade Magazine

Activates when obtaining 10 Scrap(s) while having fewer than 4 homemade magazines crafted.
Affects self.
Function: Crafts magazines out of Scraps and gains a buff.
Effect 1: Removes Scrap(s)
Effect 2: Crafts 1 homemade magazine, up to a maximum of 4. This effect is continuous.
Effect 3: ATK ▲ 7.5% continuously x the number of homemade magazines.

Whenever E.H. gains 10 Scrap from her S2 skill, she will instantly convert it to a magazine. Each magazine will both give her +1 ammo to make use of with her Burst, and +7.5% ATK. Once you reach the max stacks of 4, she will gain 4 ammo for her rockets and +30% ATK.

The issues with this skill are twofold: One, the cap of 4 is just too little. The fact that it means her Burst will only have 4 ammo to shoot at max stacks, when the weapon transform isn’t THAT amazing (it is still good, we’ll go over it shortly) means that this is a self-imposed limitation for no good reason.

Second, even if 4 ammo was an acceptable amount for her Burst weapon, +7.5% ATK per stack is again, just too little. +30% ATK is what you can get out of weapon gear if you have decent luck with Custom Modules. If the stacks were going to be limited to 4, then the ATK gain should’ve been higher.

The fact that both the stack cap and the ATK gain are both too low are a severe hindrance to how her kit works as a whole.

Skill 2: Scrap Hunt

Affects self.
Function: Gains a buff when obtaining Scraps.
Effect 1: Activates at the start of battle. Scraps ▲ 10 continuously, up to a maximum of 10.
Effect 2: Activates when an ally or self destroys
a destructible projectile.
Scraps ▲ 1 continuously, up to a maximum of 10.
Effect 3: Activates when an ally or self
destroys an enemy’s part. Scraps ▲ 5 continuously, up to a maximum of 10.
Effect 4: Activates when an enemy is neutralized. Scraps ▲ 2 continuously, up to a maximum of 10.
Effect 5: Activates when obtaining Scraps.
Elemental Advantage Attack Damage ▲ 16.36% for 15 sec.

When combat begins, E.H. immediately gains 10 Scrap to convert into a magazine; this ensures that she will always have a minimum of 1 magazine, and therefore, 1 ammo to use with her Burst, and +7.5% ATK. The skill gives her a variety of ways to collect Scrap. Regardless of how Scrap is earned, she will give herself a decent Elemental Damage buff for 15 seconds. This will refresh any time Scrap is obtained.

Whenever she or an ally destroys a destructible projectile, 1 Scrap is gained. Whenever a boss’ part is destroyed, 5 Scrap is gained. Whenever a regular enemy is killed, 2 Scrap is gained. All of these go into the same Scrap stack, and whenever they add up to 10, she gives herself a magazine for S1.

In scenarios where a boss doesn’t spawn additional enemies, nor has parts, it is not possible for her to obtain Scrap by other means. Unlike other stack-based skills, units with skills that can give stacks, such as Pepper’s Burst, or Mica: Snow Buddy’s S2, do not allow E.H. to gains scrap. However, due to the stack cap on S1, the performance between Scrap-less E.H. and max Scrap E.H. is not that big.

Burst: Heavenbound

Affects self.
Changes the weapon in use.
Charge Time: 0.4 sec
Damage: 61% of
final ATK
Full Charge Damage: 250% of damage
Max Ammunition Capacity: 1 x the number of homemade magazines
Duration: 10 sec

Removal Condition: When the duration ends or when all rounds have been fired.
Additional Effect:
ATK ▲ 430.05% for 10 sec.

The only real good part of E.H.’s skills, and it’s completely destroyed by the stack limitation on S1. E.H. will give herself a ginormous 430.05% ATK buff and change her weapon into a unique rocket launcher: While the base damage of 61% is below average, having a 0.4 second charge time while retaining the default 250% charge damage multiplier is honestly really strong.

It would’ve at least been so good to work around, but unlike most other weapon transforms, it’s not intended to be a ‘one-shot’ weapon, or ‘infinite’ ammo to shoot with until the Burst duration ends: instead, the weapon gains 1 ammo per S1 magazine. That means it can have a minimum of 1 ammo or a maximum of 4.

This limitation unfortunately destroys the viability of her transform weapon so much: It’s not a great one shot weapon like something Snow White or Maxwell has, but it’s very limited in ammo anyway. It could’ve been so good if it didn’t have an ammo cap to combine with Alice and shoot so many rockets with the reduced charge time, but there’s too few rockets to make that work with how it is right now.

When ammo runs out, she returns to her SMG, which while above average, is just not as good as her weapon transform, which makes the limited ammo on the Rocket Launcher hurt even more. She does retain the ATK buff for the remaining duration, and due to how much ATK she gives herself on Burst, more ATK buff from units like Liter is not as good on E.H. as it is on most other units.

Campaign

One of the spots she could perform well in, due to the abundance of Scrap; unfortunately, she is rewarded too little for farming scrap, as only 4 rockets max on Burst is not gonna do wonders against crowds of enemies popping up. Once the rocket launcher is gone, she is too single target, her single target DPS isn’t as high as her competition, and her burst gen is so low as an SMG unit.

There just exist a lot of units that can do the job better in Campaign, with more ways of dealing with crowds of enemies, burst gen or other forms of utility, and if they’re single target, they deal much more damage than what E.H. can output.

It should be noted that while she is a good unit for Elysion DPS for Wind, there’s just much better neutral element DPS options available, that you only really need E.H. or any other Wind unit if you’re up against units with Element barriers that block non-Wind DPS, making her unnecessary for the tower climb as well.

Arena

She technically does gain stacks when Nikkes perish in combat against her, but due to the limitations explained, she’s not very good in PvP anyway, and that’s before we get into the issues of her weapon archetype in PvP: Too single target, and individual weak hits just give opponents too much Burst meter.

Special Interception | Union Raid | Solo Raid

There’s just far better options vs bosses. Even though the difference in DPS between a partless boss and a boss with parts isn’t that much due to how middling her non-Burst buffs are, that doesn’t mean she’s the best option for bosses either way. Wind DPS is just some of the most stacked DPS available since 3rd anniversary, that using E.H. is pretty desperate.

Due to how meager her self-buffs are, and how much her skills hold back her Burst, there also exist units from other elements that can outdamage her in Wind advantage. While she does have buff efficiency with most B2 units since most of them don’t buff ATK, it doesn’t make her DPS that good to buff anyway.

Strengths

  • Powerful burst, with caveats.
  • The amount of ATK she gives herself with Burst active gives her good synergy with most B2 units that buff Attack Damage, since it’s just maximizing DPS multipliers.

Weaknesses

  • Burst is severely held back by S1’s limitations.
  • DPS outside of Burst is mediocre. This would be acceptable, but she lacks utility as well.
  • Outside of Burst, her buffs are very low overall, compared to most other Attacker units.

Either ammo control cube works fine on E.H.

Doll Priority

While SMG does have one of the strongest offensive Doll effects in boosting Normal Attack Damage, this does not affect her rocket launcher transform. While her base weapon is quite good, her skills are just such a massive detriment, that Doll priority is definitely pretty low.

S1 < S2S1 doesn’t really change much aside from the ATK buff per stack. Since its max value is quite low, there’s no real reason to level S1 that much.

Similar to S1, S2 doesn’t really change much aside from the Elemental Damage bonus gained from gaining Scrap. Since its max value is quite low as well, though still more useful than ATK, it could go higher, but I recommend leaving it at 4 unless you like E.H.

Burst is the only good skill E.H. has, albeit, it’s severely held back by S1 stacks. The massive ATK buff is incredible otherwise.

Increase Max Ammunition Capacity★★★★☆1 – 2xHer default SMG is quite good, so getting more ammo for it helps maintain her DPS. Albeit, due to her low reload time, it’s fine to not get that much.
Increase ATK★★★☆☆1 – 2xSince she gives herself so much ATK from Burst, she doesn’t want ATK as much as other units.
Increase Charge Damage☆☆☆☆☆0xWhile it does affect her Burst, due to her lack of rockets from limited ammo, it’s not worth taking to boost the damage of her burst.
Increase Charge Speed☆☆☆☆☆0xIt does affect her burst, but the low charge time means that charge speed doesn’t scale as it does on her; and again, due to the limited ammo capacity from S1, there’s no particularly good reason to get charge speed anyway for so few rockets.
Increase Critical Rate★★★★☆2 – 3xMore critical rate can help her DPS, since it’s not like she needs that much ATK nor ammo.
