Naga

Naga Skill info and Guide

Summary

Great versatile Nikke that can fit in most teams. Main focus of her kit is for fighting boss raptures, but can also fare well in Campaign usage. She provides a great offensive buffs and defensive utility. Usually paired with Tia to maximize her buffing potential

Skill 1: Guardian of Friendship

■ Activates after 12 normal attack(s). Affects all allies.
Recovery of Cover’s HP ▲ 14.57%.
■ Activates when applying Shield. Affects all allies.
Damage dealt when attacking core ▲ 85.17% for 10 sec.

Great offensive and defensive skill. Cover regeneration procs around every 10s~ including reload time, a bit less if max ammo rolls on equipment is apparent. Cover is extremely important in some boss battles, which makes Naga a great option for cover repair if Liter is not available to use. E.X Nihilister (Ch. 20), Cocytus (Ch 16).

The core damage she gives is additional, and not multiplicative. Core damage is usually 200% of damage dealt with some Nikke exceptions. Core damage shares a damage bracket with full burst, weapon efficiency range and critical hits. The total damage boost accounting for all these factors from her skill 1 at level 10 would be around 25%~ total additional damage when attacking the core and no other parts are hit.

Her core damage skill only procs with these shielder Nikkes ONLY:

Tia,Aria,Ether,folkwang

Skill 2: Support of Friendship

■ Activates after 5 normal attack(s). Affects 2 ally unit(s) with the highest ATK.
Damage dealt when attacking core ▲ 40.07% for 5 sec.
■ Activates after 5 normal attack(s). Affects 2 ally unit(s) with the lowest HP percentage.
Recovers 9.58% of the caster’s final Max HP as HP.

Her healing values are greater than Pepper’s and Rapunzel off-burst. The healing is enough to keep A2 and Scarlet at rather healthy levels without compromising DPS. Naga’s core also has basically permanent uptime and does not need a shield to proc it unlike skill 1.

Burst: As Long As We’re With Friends

Cooldown: 20s

■ Affects self.
Gain Pierce for 10 sec.
■ Affects all allies.
ATK ▲ 16.18% of caster’s ATK for 10 sec.
■ Activates when applying Shield. Affects all allies.
ATK ▲ 31.02% of caster’s ATK for 10 sec.

Similar to skill 1, she needs a Nikke that shields her to activate the second part of her skill. Attack given depends on caster’s ATK. Supports have around 0.83x less base attack than attack Nikkes, which means she still gives a very decent ATK buff still despite her class.

Her pierce is a pretty decent bonus to have which can help her occasionally hit stray core shots or hitting multiple parts against bosses which is always welcome to have.

Nerd Stuff (Extra Information)

Base damage (1x) + Core damage (1x) + Crit Damage (0.5x) + Full burst mode damage (0.5x) + Weapon efficiency range (0.3x) = 3.3x Damage. Naga skill one would add 0.85x totaling to 4.15x damage. Despite the multiple values that bloat the bracket, this skill still gives at least 25%~ total damage boost when attacking a rapture’s core.

■ Activates when applying Shield. Affects all allies.

The second effect of skill 1 is worded vaguely. To proc the additional core damage, a shield Nikke that applies on individual Nikkes are needed. This means Nikkes like Blanc, Centi, Poli will not work as the shield is shared amongst all Nikkes. However Shield Nikkes like Tia, Aria, and Ether will.

Campaign

Despite being a shotgun Nikke, she’s a pretty solid Nikke in the burst II slot. Standalone, she’s able to ATK buff Nikkes while having the capability to heal and repair cover which is great when pushing at low-mid combat power deficits (~10%). However do note that burst II slots are usually reserved for burst generation Nikkes such as Centi or Anis when paired with Cool down reduction Nikkes for smooth full burst rotations. For visual reference, please refer to this article.

One can compensate by using burst III Nikkes with high burst generating capabilities without sacrificing DPS. Such Nikkes are Alice, A2 (Limited Nikke) and Laplace. Naga is also a solid pick in Missilis tribe tower which can help newer players get through the floors easier.

Highest DPS potential Team (Late Game + w/o Tia)

Liter,Naga,Alice,Maxwell,Modernia

Alice, Maxwell, and Modernia can take advantage of Naga’s core hit damage bonus consistently due to the accuracy of their guns. However If instant screen wipes are needed, good substitutes for Modernia are Scarlet, Harran, A2, or Epinel

Ending Notes: Naga can be slapped mostly into any teams as she fills a similar role to Rupee, very versatile, however burst generation is an issue.

Arena

Unfortunately, since Naga is a mag shotgun, her burst generation is low. Additionally her skills don’t provide enough burst healing, enough utility, or give enough damage buffs to justify her usage in PvP.

Special Interception | Union Raid | Solo Raid

Special Interception

Naga is a great healer to use in special interception, namely against Modernia, Chatterbox and Blacksmith. Since she’s a great burst II pseudo healer, burst I healers are no longer needed which frees us a slot there. Since Burst I Nikkes are usually reserved for Cooldown reduction, this improves team composition variety. She’s also able to deal decent damage via pierce and give good team buffs as well. Unfortunately Blacksmith is the only boss with an open and easily hit core throughout the entire match, which means that her core damage buffs won’t be utilized very well.

She fits into ANY team when fighting targets that requires healing and/or cover repair. Such examples are Chatterbox, Blacksmith, and Modernia

Union Raid | Solo Raid

Naga should be ran with Tia if she’s available to use in almost all scenarios. They both give the team offensive and defensive capabilities that ensure massive damage and rather comfortable play

However, she’s still functional without Tia. we can still use her specifically for her great passive healing, cover repair and minor ATK + Core damage buff. For players who didn’t manage to pull Tia or with an incomplete Nikke collection,

Strengths

  • -Versatile Nikke, Can be used Standalone and still perform well
  • -Great passive healing with cover repair
  • -Higher Team Damage Ceiling compared to the bunnies when paired with Tia
  • -Very high uptime on her team buffs
  • -I love her
  • -Thighs

Weaknesses

  • -Crit Damage buffers don’t mesh well with her core damage buffs.
  • -Core damage buffs is rendered useless if the target Rapture has no core.
  • -A lot of her buffs are locked under a shield condition.
  • -Would rather hold her skirt rather than your hand

Investment Priority

Decent Nikke to OL, but not a priority until all your Priority Attack Nikkes are overloaded first. Prioritize upgrading her skills if you’re a competitive Solo raid player, or interested in clearing them. Otherwise she can sit at skill levels 5/5/5 as she mostly only shines against Boss type Raptures.
