Skill 1: The Queen’s Gaze
Activates when landing 60 normal attack(s). Affects the target.
Damage Taken ▲ 12.56% for 3 sec
Deal 158.43% of final ATK as additional damage.
Activates when landing 60 normal attack(s). Affects self.
Reloads 20 round(s) of ammunition.
Best skill 1/2 in the game. Permanent damage taken debuff on an enemy while also dealing decent proc damage every second. Both these effects only applies to one target on screen when they are proc’d. Works best in solo boss fights / stages.
The biggest increase to her personal damage, her ammo refund mechanic. It works similar to the bastion cube, in fact it’s a bit stronger at higher levels. These two can be used in tandem for extended uptime.
Skill 2: Snowstorm
Activates when hitting the Core for 60 time(s). Affects the target.
Deal 109.64% of final ATK as additional damage.
Activates at the beginning of Full Burst. Affects self.
Critical Rate ▲ 14.6% for 10 sec
Slightly weaker proc multiplier compared to her skill 1, and with a bit less going on. However extra damage is always welcome. Machine guns have pinpoint accuracy when fired long enough. Since most bosses have an exposed core, this skill isn’t as conditional as one may think it to be. The only major prominent bosses to have hidden cores are Chatter box (needs pierce), Nihilister (phase 1), Alteisein (Needs pierce), and Modernia (Gets destroyed early). Most other bosses have an open core that can be easily hit.
Critical rate is unfortunately not a great stat in the game due to the damage formula (Major Modifier), but is still nice to have. this incentivizes some more critical damage rolls for overloaded gear and crit damage teams.
Burst: Guiding Lantern
Affects self.
ATK ▲ 62.54% for 10 sec.
Reloading Speed ▲ 67.2% for 20 sec.
Great burst, MG’s LOVE ATK boosts. She also gets a massive reload speed boost. High enough to where pairing her with other Nikkes with reload speed buffs will have her at 100%~ reload speed for instant reloads.
Around 1/3rd uptime~ on her attack boost and 2/3rd uptime on reload speed. Using resilience cube will bump her reload speeds to almost instant, so it is recommended to always reload before the buff expires.
Extra Information
Ludmilla Damage Calculations
To put her damage into a clearer perspective. She does a lot of damage. Her normal attack values are slightly higher than normal (5.86%), while also having a constant amount of high damaging additional damage procs every second.
assuming everything is at skill 10, her normal attack damage would be of 10%~ per shot.
however her additional procs can’t core hit, so almost half her damage is missing a pretty major multiplier.
Her procs are able to crit though, which slightly makes up for her procs to be unable to core hit.
Ludmilla vs Top tier DPS’s (Modernia)
As mentioned her damage calculation section, she effectively deals 10%~ normal attack damage per shot when accounting for her additional procs. This is nearly as much damage as Modernia, which clocks in at 10.76% per normal hit if skill level 1 is max’d.
Modernia does have a rather permanent ATK up and Crit damage as well, however Ludmilla has much less downtime due to her kit which leads to much more flexible overload gear rolls since 4x max ammo rolls are no longer mandatory. This is also less punishing for early-mid game players.
This leads to some Ludmilla’s even out damaging Modernia’s since optimal rolls are hard to get.
Resilience or Bastion?
Since skill 1 one will most likely be the first skill to be invested to high levels, it is recommended to use bastion early on first, especially when using her with the bunny support team.
After overloading with ammo rolls (2x+), with higher burst levels. Ludmilla would want to use Resilience cube. Although she’d still want to use bastion if she’s placed in Bunny teams due to being able to infinitely fire.
When going against water weak enemies, simply use the cube with the highest elemental damage buff if the player has unequally leveled cubes. Elemental damage breakthroughs with cubes occur at level 5, 9, and 10.
Campaign
She does decent in campaign. Which may be surprising to some as she does similar damage to Modernia and Modernia is a top tier campaign clearer. But the huge difference between the two is damage consistency and AoE capabilities. Almost half of her damage comes from damage procs which can lead to a lot of overkill damage, and Ludmilla also needs to burst to achieve her damage potential. This is a problem as AoE bursts are always preferred in campaign.
She’s a pretty good elite/boss Shredder in water weak stages, once overloaded gears are in order. As time and time again, taking advantage of elemental weaknesses have shown to be extremely fruitful in all game modes. It is recommended to at least have 2x Elemental Damage rolls if using Ludmilla over Modernia in water weak stages.
Arena
Unfortunately, it does not look like she’s offer anything new or relevant in the PvP scene. No decent burst generation abilities, Ludmilla can easily be countered by “wall” type comps (Biscuit, blanc Indom) nor have AoE burst capabilities. She kinda serves as a Modernia substitute in PvP teams, which even then, was never really meta in the first place.
Special Interception | Union Raid | Solo Raid
XLud kit is rather “self-contained”, most of the effects are complimentary to her DPS ability. On top of this XLud also offers Damage Taken debuff which turns her into a capable hybrid DPS unit. XLud will require minimal support to function optimally so she can fit into any team easily as a flex unit. She can also be used as a hyper carry.
She prefers to be used in top tier supporting teams due to her damage potential, but there’s also huge competition for those slots as well if the player has a complete box. It mostly depends if the boss has parts, what elemental weakness they have and etc.
Teams
This comp minimizes the time XLud has to reload as much as possible thanks to Noir’s S2 partially reloading her gun every burst and Liter’s S1 increasing her ammo cap combined together with XLud’s self ammo refund from S1. With enough extra ammo from OL gear, it will be possible to reload only once during a boss fight.
MG and Snipers are the only weapons able to leverage the increased core hit multiplier from Tia and Naga teams thanks to their high hit rate. XLud is the only MG unit viable with Tiga as we can burst with her (unlike Modernia) and she is fine with being healed (unlike Guillotine). You can use Red Hood/Alice in the flex as they are snipers unit with high, consistent damage output during burst.
A reload heavy team. Takes advantage of Ludmilla being able to instantly reload while helm also bringing in an additional damage multiplier and healing. If healing isn’t needed, other offensive Nikkes can be considered, such as Maxwell (ATK buff) and etc.
On a side note for Special Intercept, 2 of the 5 bosses in the current rotation are water weak (Chatterbox, Blacksmith). XLud can help players are who are struggling to kill these bosses in time. XLud will also make GD a lot less stressful because she doesnt have to reload as often, players wont need to worry about running out of ammo while destroying QTE circles
Strengths
- Strong bossing Nikke
- Almost no down time / rather easy to build in regards to overload gear
- Currently the best Water DPS Nikke
- Flexible Nikke
- Upgraded Melons
Weaknesses
- Slightly lacking in content that doesn’t involve boss killing / Single target
- Would still fry your electronics
Should You Pull?
Yeah, pulling her would make a great addition to the players Nikke roster. Great bossing Nikke, with 2 huge love pillows. One copy would suffice for campaign focused players. For players who are more solo raid / Union raid orientated, 2+ copies would be great if they have the funds to do so.
Do keep in mind that the new year banner is also around the corner.

Skill Priority
| Nikke | Skill1 | Skill2 | Burst | Notes | Investment Priority |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ludmilla: Winter Owner | 10 | 7 | 7-10~ | Skill 1 Is extremely strong. Offers Damage taken debuff (Damage multiplier), Ammo refund and proc damage. Skill 2 is a bit less desirable, but it is still on a strong Nikke, rather high investments are still wanted. Burst increases her ATK and reload speed greatly. It is recommended to stick to level 7 burst until higher priority Nikkes burst are at 10. | High |
