Brid: Silent Track Analysis – Should You Pull?

Hi, Brid!

Overview

  • High DPS B2 SG with bonus effects vs Fire-weak enemies.
  • Simple, but effective kit.
  • Highest 10s ATK buff on a 20s cooldown currently.
  • Scales well with standard SG teammates Tove and Drake, giving her lots of ATK and Attack Speed, stats she loves a lot, especially with S2.
  • Good wave clear thanks to S1 activating any time and taking all buffs into account.
  • Lack of Damage Taken debuffs outside of Wind enemies limits her usability outside of Fire-weak situations for SG team.
  • Her buffing purely ATK makes her work best with DPS units that lack self-ATK buffing, which remains rare for now.

Should You Pull?

Unlike Diesel: Winter Sweets (xDiesel), there’s some more nuance with Brid: Silent Track (xBrid). She is a lot more specific at where she excels. In terms of DPS, she only particularly excels when buffed up by Tove (Treasure) (ToveT), Drake (Treasure) (DrakeT), where she gets the Attack Speed desired to proc S2 more often, and the ATK from both to compensate for her lack of ATK self-buffing on Burst.

Even within, she is only particularly excellent for the shotgun archetype when the opponent is Fire-Weak, as that is when she applies an additional damage modifier, Damage Taken. Without it, all she offers is more ATK, a stat that the Shotgun Team already gives plenty of through its two core members. If the Damage Taken debuff worked anywhere, xBrid would’ve honestly been so excellent for the Shotgun Team as a whole, thanks to her great DPS potential.

Outside of the shotgun team, xBrid would prefer to buff Attackers that don’t buff their ATK much at all, since that is the best way to use her buff skills. However, this too, is not very common. The vast majority of Attackers have ways of buffing themselves when they either use their own Burst, enter Full Burst or some passive way to permanently buff themselves. Most of them buff their own ATK, and so would prefer buffers that give other damage multipliers.

It also doesn’t help that while she does have a lot of DPS, she’s a Fire-code Nikke. Fire isn’t exactly short in the amount of units capable of dealing great DPS; There’s a lot of DPS options available for it. Even if xBrid is definitely going to be a great fire DPS in raids with the right team, as a whole, the average player may not necessarily need her for their raid needs.

TL;DR She is good, but skip if you wish. While she has great DPS in the right team and her buff has potential in the future, it’s not an immediate must have, especially with so many Fire-code DPS units available. She’ll potentially be better off during her rerun next year.

Newbie/Incomplete Box Section

Brid: Silent Track is a B2 20s CD SG Fire unit that primarily deals DPS and has a decent buff on the side, while specifically having debuffs for Wind enemies. As a DPS unit, her DPS when buffed by Tove and Drake is amazing. Even when not buffed by them, as long as she is sent out against Fire-weak, her DPS potential is still top tier, as the Damage Taken debuff, combined with her personal DPS just does a lot for teams as a whole.

As a support, however, her buff is okay. It’s actually a very nice buff, but compared to other B2 buffers that offer more multipliers, if xBrid is used in content that isn’t Fire-weak, she just doesn’t provide as much for the vast majority of Attackers. Since most Attackers have some form of buffing their own ATK, and other buffers provide other multipliers, or more than just one buff, it generally works out better for them to get other types of B2 buffers.

xBrid should mainly see use in Fire-weak content, with or without the shotgun team, though especially with for the time being. The Damage Taken debuff from S1 and S2 activating against Wind enemies only gives her an advantage that she doesn’t have in element neutral scenarios.

Skill 1: Ignition Sequence

Activates when entering Full Burst. Affects all Wind Code enemies.
Damage Taken ▲ 15.12% for 10 sec.
Activates when entering Full Burst. Affects all enemies.
Deals 636% of final ATK as damage.

When entering Full Burst, any Wind Code enemies on the field are afflicted with a Damage Taken debuff.

All enemies regardless of element are also hit with a screenwipe attack. It should be noted that this will activate regardless of whether Brid has used her Burst or not, and that it activates when entering Full Burst, allowing it to benefit from buffs that activate ‘when entering Full Burst’.

Skill 2: Journey Ahead

Activates after 10 normal attack(s). Affects 1 Wind Code enemy unit(s) with the lowest remaining HP.
Damage Taken ▲ 12.12% for 10 sec.
Activates after 5 normal attack(s). Affects 1 enemy unit(s) with the lowest remaining HP.
Deals 675% of final ATK as damage.

After 10 normal attacks, Brid will debuff a Wind code enemy with a Damage Taken debuff. This effect can’t trigger at all if there’s no Wind code enemies present. This debuff stacks with the Damage Taken debuff from S1 to provide one Wind code enemy with a 27.24% Damage Taken debuff, which is honestly really big for how ‘free’ it is, the condition being that it has to be Wind-code, lowering her effectiveness against other elements.

Against bosses, who tend to be the sole enemy to face off against, this debuff is effectively permanent on them, even without ToveT, as it takes a Shotgun a base time of 10/1.5 = 6.66 seconds to fire 10 normal attacks, and in this case, provide a 10 second debuff against them.

Every 5 attacks, Brid will release a big burst of damage on a single target with the lowest HP. This will activate regardless of whether the target is Wind element or not, which gives Brid DPS outside of Wind content. This is her biggest source of DPS against bosses.

In normal situations, she will fire this off every 5/1.5 = 3.33 seconds, but when buffed up by Tove’s speed buff at max rank S2, Brid will fire this off every 5/(1.5 x 1.42) ≈ 2.35 seconds, assuming no reloads. This makes her one of the most powerful DPS when buffed by Tove, since it combines with a shotgun’s great normal attack. With it, she’s currently the best Fire DPS in the shotgun team.

Burst:

Affects all allies (except self).
ATK ▲ 66.52% of caster’s ATK for 10 sec.

Brid buffs the entire party besides herself with a big caster ATK buff. This is the currently the highest caster ATK buff that affects any Nikke on a 20 second cooldown. However, Brid doesn’t buff herself with her own buff on Burst. This is honestly so unnecessary, perhaps Shift Up was afraid of releasing multiple strong B2 units at once.

This means that Brid herself would personally love big ATK buffers for herself. In the shotgun team, this is easy to come by, as both ToveT and DrakeT, two staples in the archetype, provide a ton of ATK buffs. However, this also means that her burst buff isn’t very impactful in shotgun team itself, as ToveT and DrakeT already give the other units so much ATK. Other buffers will likely be better if Brid’s DPS isn’t needed for SG team.

Due to so many B3 Attackers buffing themselves with ATK buffs passively, whether at all times, when entering or using Full Burst, Brid’s ATK buff doesn’t perform well with them, when so many B2 buffers currently are the ones providing a lot of varied ways to amplify damage, to multiply better with all the ATK buffs most Attackers give themselves.

This makes her ATK buff most optimal mainly for Attackers that do not buff their attack very much, if at all. Such viable units are few and far in between currently, so far only being Mihara: Bonding Chain, Liberalio (after 3 seconds pass) and xDiesel. Perhaps more will appear in the future, or a major Attack Damage buffer will appear in the B1 position to allow xBrid to synergize with more standard teams.

Campaign

Since her damage from S1 and S2 can activate without Bursting, and activates regardless of enemy code, she has good potential in campaign as a form of supplemental wave clear. She will perform a screenwipe on any Full Burst, and since this screenwipe benefits from ‘entering Full Burst’ buffs, it can deal supplemental damage alongside other screenwipes in campaign, or be the main screenwipe as your main DPS’ single target damage picks off the weakened enemies, assisted by her S2.

This can function either with xBrid as the main B2 unit, or as an off-burst unit providing DPS. There are two caveats, though. One, is that unlike most Attacker units, xBrid doesn’t have any self-buffing, causing her S1 and S2 damage to fall off without big allied buffers to compensate for it. It may be necessary to bring Liter or other big buff units to make this work at higher deficits.

Second, she is a Supporter-class unit. By default, they have ~80% the base ATK of Attacker-class units. Regular ATK buffs are less effective on her, and her falloff will come sooner than an Attacker unit’s as deficit rises. I suspect xBrid will be at her most optimal in 30% power deficit or below, which is honestly really good.

Arena

Brid has potential in PvP. Shotgun is a good weapon in PvP, she has two good nukes to hit enemies hard, one every 5 attacks, and another when entering Full Burst, and all of this can occur completely off-burst, allowing the use of either a DPS buff more beneficial to allies or a utility B2. The occasional wind enemy will also be afflicted by Damage Taken debuffs to perish faster. However, her default shotgun is the default full magazine reload, making her burst generation very standard. Other sources of burst gen would be desirable to enable the team as a whole better.

Special Interception | Union Raid | Solo Raid

xBrid will undoubtedly be a great Fire DPS in Fire-weak raids. The damage taken debuff and high DPS potential means that even if other buffers can DPS units with better damage multipliers, xBrid does have the damage to make up for the gap in damage dealt when built and supported like a DPS, within Fire-weak content.

However, outside of Fire-weak, where her DPS falls off, her lack of additional damage amplification makes most other units the shotgun team goes with more desirable to pair up with, as they provide more sources of damage amplification, and they have plenty of options, from Grave, Ade: Agent Bunny (bAde), Blanc + Noir, Tia + Naga when utilizing Soda: Twinkling Bunny (bSoda), so on.

It’s almost always is better to amp up the damage of the main DPS unit(s) with an elemental advantage as a support, which xBrid doesn’t do enough of when ToveT and DrakeT already provide so much ATK, doesn’t have the Damage Taken debuff to provide additional DPS multipliers, and doesn’t have the DPS to make up for the damage loss outside of Fire-weak for the Shotgun team.

She is most effectively used as a big Fire DPS with some buff power for the shotgun team, and should be thought of as the main DPS when used in Fire-weak boss fights, in spite of her B2 slot.

Outside of the shotgun team, her while her DPS is still good, without the big personal DPS Shotgun team gives, her current buff just doesn’t stand out for now. Even though it is the biggest ATK Buff on a 20s CD in a long time, it doesn’t benefit a lot of Attackers currently besides those that lack self-ATK buffing, which is very rare.

It’s plausible that her ATK buff can work in some setup with these low-to-no self ATK buff DPS units in other context, but it will require further testing in the future. Though even then, the number of DPS units that benefit from xBrid’s buff a lot compared to other B2 buffers will always remain comparatively low.

Strengths

  • Great DPS, especially when buffed by ToveT
  • Damage Taken debuff in conjunction with caster ATK buff against Wind-enemies will hurt a lot.
  • High Caster ATK to provide to DPS units
  • A screenwipe every Full Burst time can contribute to wave clear in normal maps.
  • S2 procs frequently enough outside of shotgun team, and is amazing DPS within the shotgun team.

Weaknesses

  • Most DPS units don’t make great use of Caster ATK buffs by themselves, when so many of them already give themselves so much ATK as a self-buff.
  • B2 is home to many other sources of better multipliers for the majority of DPS (i.e. Attack Damage and its derivatives, Core Damage from Naga) making it difficult to justify using xBrid if she’s not going to deal a lot of damage.
  • Damage Taken is only against Wind, resulting in lower potential vs element neutral content.
  • Shotgun team doesn’t need any more ATK buffers with both Tove and Drake present, making her burst buff diluted. She does not have the personal DPS to make up for it if better buffers are available for the SG DPS units against other elements.
  • Doesn’t benefit from her own buff on Burst, meaning she needs her own ATK buffer to help her personal DPS; Shotgun team usually has this covered, but outside of it, there’s few options like Liter.

Recommended Cubes

As a primary DPS unit, she loves either Resilience or Bastion. Optimally, you go for what is higher level for the higher Elemental Damage multiplier, either will work perfectly fine. For a shotgun, she has a fast base 1.5s reload time, making Resilience cut her reload time to close to a second, while Bastion can help maintain her ammo mid-burst, where DPS time is most important.

Doll Priority

Shotguns have one of the strongest dolls in the game, providing them with Normal Attack Damage multiplier. Since Brid loves to attack so much, and it provides her with more ATK to DPS with and buff allies with, the doll priority is high for Brid.

S1 < S2Skill 1 is a nice chunk of Burst Damage when entering Full Burst, and a damage taken debuff to add up with S2. Can be leveled up more if you plan on using her in campaign.

Skill 2 is where the bulk of her personal DPS comes from against bosses, regardless of the team composition she’s used in. While the damage taken debuff on S1 is higher compared to S2’s, both scale poorly with skill levels anyway, so damage is the biggest reason to go for more S2 levels.

Burst provides allies with a very nice caster ATK buff, one of the biggest for a 20s CD unit. It’s honestly such a shame Brid can’t benefit from her own buff, though.

  1. Hello, everyone. Even with such a simple kit, nuances had to be discussed as to why her burst buff just isn’t so good right now. Still, she’s got potential for the future.
I’ll have the Wishlist guide updated and overhauled soon.

      • currently, in SG team, it’s:
ToveT xBrid DrakeT sDoro SolineFT (dwife can be a substitute)

        if you lack sDoro
ToveT bAde bSoda DrakeT xBrid and she is offburst

ToveT blanc bSoda Noir xBrid and she is offburst and heals are needed
