Avistar Analysis

Avistar will support her star!

Overview

  • B1 Re-Enter Electric MG Supporter who only supports Anis: Star.
  • Similar to Chime, she offers little to nothing to units not named Anis: Star.
  • Anis: Star is powerful enough in DPS to warrant a dedicated buffer, unlike Chime with Crown.
  • Regardless, the opportunity cost of using her over a tertiary buffer than can support the team is very high.
  • Possibly viable if Anis: Star is your best character in a team by a significant margin. Make sure to stack non-Attack Damage buffs for Anis: Star in that case.
  • Very cute.

Should I get more copies out of the Anniversary Selective Box?

It really depends when you began playing the game. Avistar is great for Anis: Star exclusively, who is already one of the game’s most powerful units. She is also technically one of the best units available from the 3.5 Anniversary Selective Box. However, that is mostly because the free units that have been available from anniversary events are made to not be that good, generally speaking.

Avistar is the best option, but due to the extremely limited circumstances of when she is usable, it’s better to ask if you actually need to use the 3.5 Anniversary Box for more Avistar. If you’re a new player that have picked up the game relatively recently, you are likely going to want to use all the boxes obtained over the event just on Avistar.

By doing so, you are guaranteed a free Max Limit Break (MLB) unit. Five are necessary in order to go past the initial 160 cap.

If you have been playing for a while and lack the other units, if you have already gone past the initial 160 cap, then you should use the boxes on units you’re missing: expanding on the Nikkepedia progresses a lifetime challenge, as well as increases your level cap.

Newbie/Incomplete Box Section

Avistar is a B1 Re-enter Electric MG Supporter unit who exclusively buffs Anis: Star (AnisTT), and ONLY Anis: Star. She will not buff any other version of Anis, so don’t bother using her with Anis: Sparkling Summer (sAnis) or the original Anis.

While the buffs she provides to AnisTT are above average, and the unit she is dedicated to has innately great damage potential, unlike Chime for Crown, the problem with Avistar is that using her is just too big of an opportunity cost.

Since Avistar does not buff anyone else but AnisTT, due to the limitation of 5 Nikkes for a team, this means that there is no room for anything else on the team: the proposed team with Avistar would have to include AnisTT, a 20s B2 and 2 B3 units. Since Avistar only buffs AnisTT, this means there’s no room for a more flexible unit that can buff the rest of the team, that can also buff AnisTT.

The only time it would possibly be worth using Avistar to buff AnisTT is if AnisTT is so heavily invested into that her DPS is so far ahead of everyone else, but even then, due to the lack of utility from Avistar other than buffing AnisTT, this would only be seriously considered in raid context, mostly if you are lacking options, and happen to have both Avistar and AnisTT available.

Skill 1: Aftershow

Activates when Full Burst ends. Affects her favorite pop star.
Aftershow: ATK ▲ 80.26% of the caster’s ATK. This effect is removed when entering Full Burst.
Activates when Full Burst ends. Affects self.
Recovers 3.52% of the caster’s final max HP as HP every 1 sec for 10 sec.
Removes Stargazer.

When Full Burst ends, Avistar grants AnisTT a huge 80% caster ATK with no apparent duration. Since she’s a Supporter, this would be ridiculous for AnisTT. As a Defender, receiving caster ATK from a Supporter makes the ATK buff ~20% more effective due to the base stat difference between the two archetypes.

However, the moment one enters Full Burst, the buff is entirely removed. This decreases the usability of this buff substantially, since Full Burst is where it’s DPS time for the whole team. Such a huge buff going away already hampers the viability of using Avistar with AnisTT.

When Full Burst ends, she’ll also heal herself for some HP per second, though this is mostly to make up for some effect she does from her S2 and Burst, where she reduces her current HP after increasing her max HP. Perhaps she is too excited to be working alongside her favorite pop star, and has to cool off afterwards…

In case there was ever any doubt as to who Avistar’s ‘favorite pop star’ was.

Skill 2: Afterglow

Activates when entering Full Burst while in Stargazer status with over 25% HP. Affects self.
Current HP ▼ 20%
Activates when entering Full Burst while in Stargazer status. Affects her favorite pop star.
Projectile Explosion Damage
▲ 40.13% continuously.
Attack Damage ▲ 40.13% continuously.

When entering Full Burst, if she used her Burst, she will reduce her Current HP by 20%, and greatly buff AnisTT. The buffs that AnisTT gets from Avistar are really good. Attack Damage is simple, but effective. Projectile Explosion Damage empowers the damage that AnisTT’s basic attacks deal, as well as those from her Stars when she uses Burst.

It should be noted, though, that for the purposes of the damage formula, Projectile Explosion Damage falls under the same category as Attack Damage. This means that for all intents and purposes, AnisTT is getting her normal attack (without its activation) and Star normal attack from Burst by just over 80%.

Combined with the amount of Attack Damage and Projectile Explosion Damage Anis already gives herself and allies, AnisTT will just be swimming in effective Attack Damage, which can get inefficient when stacked to excess. If a team using Avistar for AnisTT is being considered, it could be a good idea to find B2 and B3 units that buff team ATK or increases the enemy’s Damage Taken, such as Blanc (alongside Noir) or Maiden: Ice Rose, to be more efficient with the damage formula.

Burst: Stargazer

Affects all allies.
Re-enters Burst Stage 1.
Affects self.
Stargazer: Max HP ▲ 26.4% of the caster’s max HP continuously.

Upon using Burst, Avistar will re-enter Burst stage 1, which allows Anis: Star to use her own Burst alongside her biggest fan. Avistar will also boost her max HP, which when combined with the current HP reduction from S2, will result in her dropping a sizeable amount of HP, that she will then recover with S1’s final line.

Honestly, I don’t get it…

Campaign

In campaign, Avistar will see no use. Not only is damage important in campaign, but for the units that deal little to no damage, they better at least provide some utility; Avistar does neither. While she does greatly buff Anis: Star, it would be better for a campaign team to use a tertiary support unit that can provide a buff for the whole team, including Anis: Star, or an off-burst DPS unit to help deal with the mobs.

It should also be noted that, since Avistar is an Elysion unit, while Anis: Star is a Tetra-Overspec unit, the duo can’t be used together in Tribe Tower content, which further reduces Avistar’s viability in PvE content.

Arena

As a unit that strictly buffs one unit, Avistar is not worth using in PvP. Even though Anis: Star is great in PvP, as Avistar is a MG unit, attempting to use her will only result in ‘feeding’ opposing teams extra burst generation from weak hits from her weapon.

On top of her low innate viability in PvP, Avistar’s lack of utility and damage for PvP makes her even worse in PvP.

Special Interception | Union Raid | Solo Raid

While Avistar buffs Anis: Star greatly for raids, which will only make Anis: Star more effective in Electric weak raids, it becomes a matter of opportunity cost. While Avistar buffs Anis: Star substantially, far more than what Crown gets out of Chime, a unit with a similar effect for another powerful unit, the problem is that one is almost always better off using a tertiary support that can buff the entire team over Avistar exclusively buffing Anis: Star.

The only circumstance it could be worth considering buffing Avistar for Anis is if your Anis: Star is so far in investment over your other units, or if you are lacking so many units for Electric weak raid, that considering Anis: Star as the sole electric DPS unit for a single team is viable.

Ludmilla: Winter Owner

Since Avistar gives so much Attack Damage equivalent to Anis: Star, who also gives herself so much Attack Damage as well, it is much better to spread out what sort of damage buffs Anis: Star gains to make better use of the damage formula multipliers; Damage Taken debuff is very effective in this composition, and caster ATK from Noir is valuable, especially since Avistar’s caster ATK doesn’t work within Full Burst.

For content such as Special Intercept and Union Raid, it’s better to just go all in on a team without resorting to Avistar if necessary, since single team content rewards maximizing as much damage as possible, instead of spreading out the electric units in your roster as viably as they can be within 5 teams.

Strengths

  • Buffs Anis: Star, who is a very powerful unit.
  • Unlike Chime, Avistar buffs a unit that has damage potential to begin with.

Weaknesses

  • Exclusive buffs to Anis: Star means you can’t use a buffer that could potentially benefit the whole team, including Anis: Star.
  • Does virtually nothing if not supporting Anis: Star, as inflexible of a unit as one can get.
  • Her non-Anis: Star buffs don’t do much of anything.
  • The caster ATK from S1 not working during Full Burst hampers Avistar’s viability with Anis: Star substantially; if it was permanent, Avistar would more than likely be worth using with Anis: Star all the time.

Rating

Note: This rating is only valid if Avistar is used alongside Anis: Star. Avistar has little to no function otherwise.

Recommended Cubes

Any cube is fine, though due to her lack of DPS potential, or scaling with more stats, you can give her whatever cube you feel like, it will have little impact on her performance.

Doll Priority

As a unit that exclusively buffs Anis: Star, and has very low potential, her Doll priority is low. Aside from low personal DPS, her scaling buffs to AnisTT are very low in value due to them not working within Full Burst.
